Today, I'm excited to share my review of the
#SkybayHotelGyeongpo Deluxe Double Type Corner Room,
where I stayed during my 1-night, 2-day trip to Gangneung!
(Heads up, this is a long post with lots of details!)
Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo

▫️033-923-2000 | Valet parking, narrow parking lot, infinity pool, convenience store, 1-minute walk from Gyeongpodae Beach
Deluxe Double Type Room + Infinity Pool tickets for 2 people
It's a Stay & Swimming Package – a "hocance" (hotel vacation) package that includes access to the infinity pool, teehee!
There are also two-day passes, but I went for the all-day pass!!
I initially booked through a lodging app,
(something about a welcome drink at the infinity pool...)
But when I checked the official website, the price was lower,
So I booked through the Skybay Gyeongpo Hotel official website for around ~$173!
Since the app had included a welcome drink,
I almost ended up booking for around ~$207, can you believe it..?
It's expensive during the summer peak season, but apparently, you can find rooms for around ~$69 during off-peak weekdays!
Time to make some serious cash...
Skybay Gyeongpo Hotel is practically a landmark in Gyeongpodae, Gangneung!
As you head towards Gyeongpo, you'll spot the beautiful Skybay Gyeongpo Hotel, just like that! 😝
I took this picture because the hotel looked so beautiful at sunset on my way back after getting dinner, hehe.
Lobby
The Lobby floor (L Floor) is divided into a concierge service zone and a check-in zone,
so if you're checking in, you can use the self-check-in kiosks or wait in line!
Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo is divided into the South Wing & North Wing.
The guest room floors don't connect between the wings,
so you'll need to use the elevator specific to your wing, hehe!
Otherwise, you might end up in the wrong wing~...
There are also restaurants on the lobby floor,
and you can think of California Trading Post as Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo's minimart.
They even have craft beer and wine, so you could buy your alcohol here!
Plus, they have swimsuits and various water play items,
so if you need anything, I recommend checking out California Trading Post!
I saw someone fumbling around at the lobby, pulling something out, and it turned out to be
mango-flavored ice cream, lol 😂
I was surprised by how delicious it was... a rich mango flavor!!
Mobile Check-in
Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo
I proceeded with mobile check-in because an alert popped up telling me to,
but it turns out mobile check-in alerts are sent out randomly!
It only skips the check-in formalities, so showing the QR code just makes check-in faster...
You still have to pick up your room key at the lobby anyway, lol.
Other Information
I know this might be TMI, but for those who are curious... 😉
The microwave is located near the restaurant on the way to the convenience store!
Also, for those enjoying breakfast,
please note that entry may be restricted if you are wearing swimwear, bathrobes, pajamas, or room slippers before you go‼️
It seems like there's a vending machine near every elevator?!
Skybay doesn't provide disposable items, so these are handy when you need to buy kits!
Deluxe Double Corner Room
I stayed in a Deluxe Double Corner Room and specifically requested the South Wing, which I was assigned at check-in!
I was curious because the corner room offers views of both the ocean and the lake, so I made sure to request it!
Oh wow, the weather was so perfect on the day I visited that opening the window brought instant bliss...
The bed is large enough for two adults to sleep comfortably,
and the bedding is neatly arranged.
I don't prefer high pillows, so I ended up using it to hug while I slept, haha.
Bathroom & Shower
Other Deluxe Double Rooms seem to have bathtubs,
but the Corner Room doesn't have a separate tub; instead, it has a spacious shower!
As for disposable amenities, there's only basic soap, a shower cap, cotton pads, and cotton swabs – nothing else!
The body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are all multi-use items,
and there are no toothbrushes or foam cleansers, so you'll need to bring your own or purchase them from the vending machines I showed you earlier!
Plenty of towels and toilet paper for a 2-day, 1-night stay!
If you need more towels, you can request them via the in-room tablet PC.

How to Use the In-Room Tablet PC
The tablet PC in the room allowed me to check the real-time waiting status for various facilities.
It was super useful when heading to the pool!
Just remember, at Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo, you'll need to use your own personal account for OTT services,
and don't forget to log out when you check out!
With the smart order function, you can request extra towels,
and even bottled water or tissue paper! All of this is free,
but a bathrobe will cost you ~$8
You can also request other items,
like charger rentals or reporting facility issues,
which I thought was a super convenient feature.
However, I only discovered it when I was checking out, so I didn't actually get to use it myself, haha.
We played hard in the water until the pool closed at 10 PM,
and for dinner, we enjoyed some delicious takeout from the market. Haha!
Having a table and chairs made it super easy to enjoy our takeout!
And then, we settled in to watch 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' which was trending recently...
The TV can be swiveled left and right, making it comfortable to watch from various angles.
However, because the TV is right in front, it did feel like it obstructed the room's view a bit.
Deluxe Double Room Views (Ocean View, Lake View)

Stepping out onto the balcony, you get a lovely view of both the sea and the lake.
But surprisingly, the ocean wasn't as visible as I expected; the lake view actually stood out more!
I wonder what the view from the North Wing corner rooms is like? Haha!
Infinity Pool

I'll share all the detailed info, from how to use it to what you should bring.
Guess who spent a glorious 5-6 hours just at the infinity pool? That's right, it was me!

Express Checkout
Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo
You can do an express checkout using the tablet PC in your room,
so there's no need to stop by the lobby!
After applying for checkout and taking the elevator down to the parking lot,
there was a key drop-off box, making checkout super easy! 🥰
Also, if you call the lobby to request a late checkout,
you can get one hour for free.
So, if you need it, definitely make use of that!

The Deluxe Double Corner Room does not have a separate bathtub, but it features a spacious shower room. An article mentions that some other Deluxe Double Rooms might have bathtubs.
Mobile check-in is sent out randomly, and only the check-in procedure is skipped. Room keys must be collected in person at the lobby.
You can request extra towels using the smart order function on the in-room tablet PC. Requests for extra towels, bottled water, and toilet paper are free of charge.
