Breakfast at Shilla Monogram Gangneung,

I thought simply booking a breakfast-inclusive package would be fine,

but there was a catch that's more important than you'd think!

To cut straight to the chase,

the breakfast package only allows you to choose Session 1!

Since Session 1 starts at 6:30 AM,

it might be a bit too early

for anyone looking to sleep in and relax on a staycation, right?

So, what did I do instead?

Here is how to enjoy breakfast in a much more satisfying way!

1. Package vs. Booking Separately: What's the Difference?

No questions asked,

the breakfast-inclusive package only lets you use Session 1.

I wanted a relaxed staycation vibe,

but for a sleep-lover like me,

starting Session 1 at 6:30 AM is just way too early T_T

So, what I chose to do

was to book the room only

and then add breakfast separately on-site!

There's barely any price difference.

With the guest discount, it costs almost the same!

If you have a busy schedule and need to head out early,

the Session 1 package isn't a bad idea.

But!! Shilla Monogram Gangneung is the kind of place

where you go to fully unwind, right?

Having breakfast at 6:00 AM makes you feel so groggy...

2. Breakfast Hours & Prices

The reason I'm making such a big deal about the breakfast hours is...

Session 1: 06:30 AM ~ 08:00 AM

Session 2: 08:30 AM ~ 10:30 AM

Session 3: 11:30 AM ~ 01:30 PM (Weekends, Public Holidays)

Since we visited on a weekday,

we chose Session 2.

But if you're going on a weekend or public holiday,

I highly recommend Session 3!!

and ~$19 for children.

3. Bookings, Payments, & Rewards at a Glance

Breakfast reservations are made via Catch Table.

Just scan the QR code

on the information sheet you receive at check-in

and select your preferred time slot the day before having breakfast!

Payment

can be made either at the entrance of the breakfast restaurant or upon checkout!

I chose to pay during checkout along with my room bill,

and it was so convenient not having to worry about paying while going for breakfast.

Plus, since you can also earn Shilla Rewards points,

I highly recommend paying during checkout!

The breakfast at Shilla Monogram Gangneung is

already so famous!

True to its reputation,

the overall setup was incredibly neat and beautifully presented!

It had all the classic hotel breakfast staples like

salads, smoked salmon, bacon, sausages, and custom omelets,

and everything tasted absolutely amazing!

There was also a Korean food section and a live noodle station,

which was absolutely perfect for curing a hangover!

Having breakfast at Shilla Monogram Gangneung keeps you so full,

you could easily skip lunch and still feel satisfied—

The bakery selection at Shilla Monogram is

seriously a work of art!

That's exactly why I made sure to add breakfast to my stay!!

Even the pancakes showed so much attention to detail.

Smothering them with fig jam, blueberry jam, maple syrup, and mascarpone cream

made it feel like

I was dining at a high-end brunch cafe.

Personally, my absolute favorite was

the Mont Blanc dessert!

It's seriously rare to see Mont Blanc served

at a hotel breakfast buffet, right?!

And the quality?

The chestnut cream was so rich and velvety,

it literally melted in my mouth...

There was no limit on how many you could have,

making it the ultimate treat to pair with coffee to wrap up breakfast!
