Weather & What to Wear & Day Trips

Actually, exploring Prague city center was quite easy if you made good use of the trams!
As long as you have a decent amount of stamina and do a little research beforehand, you can definitely explore it all!

However, day trips from Prague cover longer distances, so if you're not renting a car, joining a tour is highly recommended! It saves time and allows you to hear insights from a guide.
Also, I'll be sharing a dedicated discount link for physical SIM cards and eSIMs at the end, so I hope it'll be a small help for those of you traveling to Prague in November!

1. November Prague Weather & What to Wear Recommendations

First, regarding Prague's weather in November: November in Prague is the transition period from autumn to early winter.
Average temperatures are around 5-9 degrees Celsius during the day and a chilly 0-3 degrees Celsius at night! It's often cloudy, and the sun sets early, usually getting dark around 5 PM.
The actual perceived temperature can feel even colder than the forecast! So, I highly recommend packing warm clothes.

And here's a quick tip! After visiting Prague, I found there's plenty to see both during the day and at night.
The night views of Charles Bridge and Old Town Square, in particular, were absolutely stunning, but it gets incredibly cold at night! If you dress for the daytime temperatures and go out at night in the same clothes, you'll be shivering so much you might say, 'I'm trying to find romance, but I'm just freezing to death...' So, I highly recommend packing clothes with the intention of staying out to see the night views!

For November in Prague, first off, thermal underwear (like Heattech)! If you don't get cold easily and only plan to explore during the day, I wouldn't insist on it, but if you're someone who plans to sightsee at night after the early sunset, I strongly recommend bringing thermal underwear!
As for your main layers, think knitwear or a thick coat. A long padded jacket might be a bit much, so a shorter padded jacket is good. To stay warmer while enjoying Prague's nightscapes, also bring cold-weather essentials like hot packs, scarves, and beanies!

And another insider tip:
most of Prague has cobblestone streets!
They're surprisingly tough to walk on. So, if you come wearing dress shoes... you'll be incredibly uncomfortable. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. These cobblestones aren't just hard to walk on, they can also be quite slippery, and people do slip. So, I highly recommend wearing comfortable, non-slip shoes!
2. Recommended Day Trips & Small Town Excursions from Prague

While you can explore Prague city center by tram or bus, for day trips or train travel to nearby areas...
When you have to take public transport to places, you need to consider timetables,
and changing buses,
so I personally recommend taking a day trip.
Since pickup is usually available right from your hotel,
you save travel time. Plus, with a guide
explaining things as you travel,
you can also learn about the history and stories of the attractions,
leaving you with much richer memories. This is especially recommended for November,
because the days are shorter!

A place I recommend for a day trip from Prague is
the small charming town of Český Krumlov.
Personally, I found Český Krumlov
to have a much more distinctive Czech fairytale atmosphere
than Prague, which I absolutely loved!
The town isn't large, but it's so
tranquil and adorable,
and even if you just snap photos casually, they turn out beautiful!

Another place I'd recommend for a day trip from Prague is
Dresden, Germany.
If you're planning to travel in November or December when the Christmas markets are in full swing,
I highly recommend it.
Dresden, Germany, is known for its incredibly grand Christmas markets,
so if you visit during this season, you'll find
so much to see and experience things
you might not easily encounter in Korea!
