Prague Castle is more like a complex, with
various buildings that each have different operating hours.
It's larger inside than you might expect, so it's a good idea to allocate at least 3 hours for your visit.
Personally, I think arriving between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM is ideal.
It's smooth sailing!
* The Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place at the entrance every hour on the hour,
with the 12:00 PM ceremony being the most prominent.

There's really only one type of Prague Castle ticket you need: the Main Circuit!
This is the standard ticket; others are for special exhibitions or tower access.
Exploring the main spots with the standard ticket is usually more than enough.
Pro Tip: If the official website is sold out,
Trip.com might still have tickets available, so keep that in mind!
(Often, third-party vendors secure an additional allocation of tickets.)

Prague Castle Review

Prague Castle is not only a historical site that houses the office of the Czech President but also
the largest castle complex in the world.
If you only see it from the outside, it's hard to imagine what lies within, so
I personally highly recommend going inside.

Here's a tip: when heading to Prague Castle, make sure to search for
'Prague Castle Starbucks' on Google Maps.
The castle is so massive that if you just search for "Prague Castle,"
you might end up in the wrong place, just like I did.

There are four main spots in Prague Castle:
St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, and Golden Lane!
While Prague Castle's gardens are lush and beautiful,
Prague itself has so many lovely streets to stroll through, so
it's perfectly fine to skip the gardens if you're short on time.

I recommend starting your visit with St. Vitus Cathedral, which typically has the longest queue!
Its stained-glass windows and towering spires are truly magnificent.
It's so immense that taking photos was quite a challenge.

Golden Lane, with its charming, pastel-colored houses,
is a fantastic spot for photos.
You can even find the workshop of Franz Kafka, a renowned Czech literary figure, here.

Unfortunately, each time I visited, I was pressed for time and wasn't able to see
the interiors of St. George's Basilica and the Old Royal Palace.
But since they're included in the ticket, I hope you'll visit them for me!

Prague Castle, an absolute must-visit for any trip to Prague.
It's not just a historical site, but also a rare place in Europe that still serves as the President's official residence.
So, I hope you can book easily and affordably
and explore all the wonderful places I didn't get a chance to see :)
