I arrived at Václav Havel Prague Airport on 07/24/2026.
After collecting my bags and clearing immigration, my destination was the K+K Hotel Central Prague, located near the historic Powder Tower.

Looking purely at the price, UberX was CZK 153.10 (approx. ~$7 USD) cheaper.
However, I chose Uber Airport.
When I used it, Uber Airport allowed me to board directly from the arrival floor. If I had chosen a regular UberX, the app would have directed me to a separate pickup point, specifically the departure floor on the 3rd level. At that moment, the thought of dragging my luggage from the 1st floor up to the 3rd floor was unappealing, so I opted for the convenience of getting picked up right from the arrival level.
Prague Airport's official guidance also states that Uber Airport's dedicated Pick-up Point is located directly in front of the Terminal 1 and 2 arrival halls. In contrast, the pickup location for regular Uber services (like UberX) can vary depending on the terminal and time of request, so it's always best to confirm the exact pickup spot shown in the app after requesting your ride.
(And trust me, you cannot manually set the pickup point to the arrival floor for UberX.🥹 I tried it so you don't have to! 😂)
So, for me, the key advantage of Uber Airport was: 'It's a bit more expensive, but I didn't have to carry my luggage to a different floor after arriving; I could just hop in directly.'
Once in the car, we headed straight to my hotel. Not having to find bus stops or make transfers was definitely a huge relief on the first day of my trip.
As we drove into the city, I started to see Prague's iconic trams and charming streetscapes outside the window.
The actual amount I paid was CZK 623.40 (approx. ~$27 USD). The estimated Uber Airport fare shown on the app's request screen matched the actual amount on my receipt.
My receipt shows the trip date as 07/24/2026 at 6:17 PM, with the payment recorded at 6:47 PM. While this shows about 30 minutes of travel, please use this as a reference for how long it might take to get from the airport to the city, rather than a definitive start-to-finish time.
Uber prices can fluctuate based on the date, time, traffic conditions, and demand, so consider CZK 623.40 as the actual cost for my specific trip.

Conversely, if cost is your absolute top priority, you might want to compare UberX or other options. However, I highly recommend checking the pickup location indicated in the app, not just the price, before making your final choice.

If you're traveling with friends and are comfortable using the Uber app, Uber Airport is incredibly convenient.
However, if you're traveling with family, have a lot of luggage, or simply want the peace of mind of having your airport transfer confirmed and arranged before you even land, a pre-booked airport pickup is definitely worth comparing.
