For the first leg of my Bali trip,
I decided to base myself near Amed! While hunting
for budget-friendly accommodation, I stumbled upon a resort
with absolutely breathtaking views of Mount Agung and booked it immediately.
Bali Amed Tulamben Resort
✔️ Check-in: 2:00 PM / Check-out: 11:00 AM
✔️ Diving and snorkeling available on-site
✔️ Incredible value: Under ~$77 per night
✔️ Date of stay: 06/2026
Location
Tulamben, Bali

Palm Springs Bali Resort is technically located in Tulamben.
Looking at the map, it doesn't seem far from Amed,
but if you're riding a scooter,
it's about a 20-minute ride away! In many places,
this distance means you're basically in the same town,
but in Indonesia—especially in Bali—
even a 10-minute drive can mean you're in a completely
different neighborhood!

Since I rented a scooter to get around,
the daily commute between Palm Springs Bali
and the main Amed strip
was a breeze. The location felt
highly accessible for exploring the area.
The Vibe

Palm Springs Bali Dive Resort
features lush green lawns, a beautiful swimming pool,
and sweeping ocean views right from the property.
It's a place where you can truly soak in the scenery!

Because it's a relatively boutique resort,
the guest occupancy feels low, giving it a wonderfully peaceful vibe.

The layout is fantastic: one side of the building faces the ocean,
while the opposite side looks out toward Mount Agung.
No matter which room you're assigned,
the panoramic views are top-notch.

The rooms are split between the first and second floors.
The ground floor makes hauling luggage easy
and offers a lovely garden terrace feel,
while the second floor undeniably provides
the best vantage point to enjoy the scenery.
Both options have their own unique perks!

From the check-in lobby,
you'll find the restaurant to your left
and the main pool straight ahead.

With the sparkling ocean in the distance,
the resort grounds are simply gorgeous. I stayed here for three days,
and I never got tired of looking at this scenery.
The Room

I booked the Mountain View Room!
I was assigned Room 104 on the second floor.
Seeing it in person confirmed my choice—the second floor offers
a much clearer, unobstructed view of Mount Agung!

Waking up, drawing the curtains, and having
Mount Agung right outside my window was an unforgettable experience.

At night, the sky was absolutely blanketed in stars.
I could even see the Milky Way!
I spent hours sitting on the terrace with a cold beer,
snapping photos of the night sky.

The room itself was incredibly spacious,
easily accommodating two people without feeling cramped.
It featured a plush king-size bed.
For a room under ~$77,
the bedding quality was surprisingly luxurious!

Since the resort is quite new,
the cleanliness was impeccable.

There was plenty of space to unpack, including a table
and a dedicated luggage area.
The large wardrobe was super useful
for organizing my gear during my three-night stay.

The bathroom featured full-length mirrors on both sides
and a massive shower area!
Basic amenities were provided, but
my favorite part was the shower setup.

Because it had a standard hose,
I was able to attach my own travel water filter (a great travel hack!).
Surprisingly, even after three days,
the filter hadn't discolored at all!
I almost thought the filter was broken,
but it turned black almost immediately at my next hotel. The water here is just that clean!
Breakfast & Restaurant

Since you need a scooter or car to reach
outside restaurants from Palm Springs Bali,
I highly recommend booking a rate that includes breakfast!

The menu offers a great variety of choices,
and the quality is excellent. Honestly, you could happily eat
all your meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—right at the resort!

I tried both lunch and dinner here during my stay,
and everything was delicious with universally appealing flavors.
Swimming Pool

The main pool is located right
in front of the resort buildings.
Because the resort is so tranquil,
I often had the entire pool to myself. It felt like a private oasis!

It features a shallow section that comes up to your knees,
dropping down to a depth of nearly 10 feet (3 meters).
It's perfect for both wading and actual swimming. I even practiced some entry dives!

The water temperature was perfectly warm,
making it great for a dip day or night.
Swimming while gazing up at Mount Agung
is a magical experience you won't want to miss!
Diving Resort Facilities
Amed & Tulamben Dive Resort Bali

The main reason most people base themselves in the Amed area
is for the scuba diving.
True to its name, Palm Springs Bali Dive Resort
has an on-site dive center,
making it incredibly convenient for guests to book tours.
They offer full gear rentals, too!

They offer certification courses
and fun dive programs.
If you want to dive, just book one day in advance.

As an official PADI dive center
with resident guides, their system is incredibly safe
and professional.

Since I was in the Amed/Tulamben area,
diving was a must-do.
I booked a 1-tank dive for the day after I checked in!
I would have done a 2-tank dive if the weather had cooperated,
but the waves were high, currents were strong,
and visibility wasn't great, so I stuck to just one.
Still, I was thrilled to finally experience
diving in Tulamben!

With its breathtaking views, pristine cleanliness, and peaceful atmosphere,
it's hard to believe this is a ~$77 range accommodation.
I absolutely loved my stay at
Palm Springs Bali Dive Resort in Tulamben.
I booked last minute (just two days before),
but if you avoid weekends, you can often find rates
between ~$38 and ~$46, making it an unbelievable bargain!
When I checked, Agoda had the lowest rates,
though Trip.com sometimes runs better promos,
so it's worth comparing the two before you book.
