Why I Chose the London Picnic Ox-Co Tour
When planning my London itinerary, my thought process was simple: "London Trip = Harry Potter = Hogwarts filming locati Plus, I really wanted that classic Oxford University hoodie. 🎓
As I researched day trips from London, I found several options: Oxford & Cotswolds, Oxford & Stonehenge, and even Oxford & Bath.
I was initially tempted by Stonehenge, but since I was traveling in July—the peak season for lavender—I found out that this specific tour stops at the breathtaking Snowshill Lavender Farm (open late June to early August). That made it an absolute no-brainer for me. I booked the "Ox-Co" tour immediately!

Ox-Co Tour Itinerary |
Meetup & Departure ➡️ Cotswolds ➡️ Bibury ➡️ Bourton-on-the-Water ➡️ Oxford ➡️ Christ Church College ➡️ University Church of St Mary the Virgin ➡️ Radcliffe Camera ➡️ Bodleian Library ➡️ Clarendon Building ➡️ Bridge of Sighs ➡️ Sheldonian Theatre ➡️ London (Tour Ends) *Note: The stunning Snowshill Lavender Fields are included in the itinerary during the summer season. |
Charming Bibury

Our first stop was Bibury, famously described by William Morris as the "most beautiful village in England."
To be honest, I didn't want to overhype it in my mind, but the moment we arrived, I was completely enchanted. Every single honey-colored stone cottage looked like it belonged in a fairytale. It was incredibly picturesque!

It’s the perfect place to snap some of your best trip photos.
A Special Lunch Surprise

For lunch, the London Picnic tour team surprised us with freshly prepared Korean Kimbap lunchboxes! I was curious to see how they would taste so far from home, and they were absolutely delicious and satisfying—the perfect fuel for a day of exploring.
Snowshill Lavender Farm

If you book this tour between late June and early August, you get to visit the famous Snowshill Lavender Fields. The endless rows of vibrant purple are absolutely stunning! There were quite a few busy bees buzzing around, which was a little intimidating at first, but the views and the lovely scent made it totally worth it.
I visited in July, which is the absolute peak bloom. My sister visited in August last year, and the fields had already been partially harvested, so I highly recommend booking your trip for July if you want to see the lavender in its full glory!
Bourton-on-the-Water

Our next stop was Bourton-on-the-Water, often called the "Venice of the Cotswolds" because of the scenic River Windrush flowing right through the center of town. The low stone bridges and grassy banks give this village an incredibly cozy, peaceful atmosphere.

One of my biggest bucket list items for the UK was to experience an authentic English cream tea with warm scones, clotted cream, and jam. Bourton-on-the-Water is famous for its charming tearooms, and I finally got to tick that off my list here. The scones were incredibly soft, warm, and delicious!
The Historic University of Oxford

Next up was the highlight of the day for me: Oxford University! While its academic reputation alone makes it worth a visit, it is a absolute must-visit destination for any Harry Potter fan.
Christ Church College

Stepping into Christ Church College felt like stepping straight onto the set of Hogwarts. The grand staircase and the iconic dining hall that inspired the Great Hall in the films are absolutely spectacular. Even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, the breathtaking architecture and rich history of this place will blow you away.
The Radcliffe Camera & More

We also stopped to take photos in front of the magnificent Radcliffe Camera, one of Oxford's most iconic landmarks.

We wandered past the famous Bridge of Sighs and explored the beautiful, historic streets surrounding the campus. It was the perfect end to our tour of Oxford.
✔︎ My Honest Review of the Ox-Co Tour
While I initially booked this tour just to see Oxford, I ended up falling completely in love with the Cotswolds. The combination of beautiful countryside scenery, the delicious lunch, and the historic university campus made it an unforgettable day trip. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of London for a day, I highly recommend this tour!

P.S. If you visit Oxford, definitely pick up an official university hoodie from one of the local campus shops! They are incredibly thick, comfortable, and make the perfect cozy souvenir to remember your trip by.
