1. Just a Short Walk from Hwaeun Hotel: Perfect Accessibility
During my Gyeongju trip, I stayed at the incredibly cozy Hwaeun Hotel near Bulguksa. Old City was located just a short walk away, making it super convenient. Since it is also very close to Bulguksa Temple, it is the perfect place to stop by before or after your sightseeing itinerary.

Stepping inside, I was surprised by how spacious and airy the interior felt compared to its modest storefront. The place was exceptionally clean, and the vintage furniture and nostalgic decor pieces added so much character. It was incredibly fun just browsing through all the unique design details tucked in every corner.

2. Friendly Feline Companions & Dreamy Window Views
The real reason I highly recommend Old City is, of course, the resident cats! If you love animals, this place is an absolute must-visit on your Gyeongju itinerary.

I grabbed a seat by the sunny window. If you are lucky, these sweet, friendly cats will wander over to sit right next to you or lounge on the window sill. My heart completely melted! 😭

Right outside the window stands a magnificent Chinese fringe tree (Ipopnamu), which blooms with snow-white flowers in the spring. Watching the white blossoms sway in the breeze while petting a purring cat felt like pure therapy. All my travel fatigue and stress just melted away. If "healing" were a physical place, this cafe would be it.

3. High-Quality Coffee & A Cute Souvenir Shop
Often, cafes with great views or animal themes compromise on the quality of their drinks. However, Old City serves genuinely delicious coffee. A sip of their rich, refreshing iced Americano was the perfect pick-me-up.

In one corner of the cafe, they also sell a variety of cat-themed and vintage souvenirs. It is the perfect spot to pick up a unique memento from your trip to Gyeongju.
