Gyeongju is an absolute must-visit destination in South Korea, and the vibrant neighborhood of Hwangridan-gil is easily its trendiest spot. While the area is famous for its incredible food and aesthetic cafes, there is one place that completely captured my heart (and emptied my wallet) during my recent trip: the charming Miffy Store Gyeongju.
My girlfriend had this shop at the very top of her travel itinerary, and even as someone who doesn't usually go crazy for character merch, I found myself completely charmed. It gets incredibly busy on weekends, and there are some key differences between the Main Building and the Annex. 1. Stress-Free Parking Tips for Hwangridan-gil
Because Hwangridan-gil is the most popular area in Gyeongju, weekends and holidays can bring heavy traffic. Trying to navigate the narrow alleys to park right next to the shop is highly discouraged—you will likely get stuck, which is not how you want to start your day!

My top recommendation is to park a few blocks away at the spacious Hwangnam Public Parking Lot. It's a scenic walk to the store, and you'll get to explore the beautiful local streets and shops along the way without any driving stress.

Following the map through the historic streets brings you to a stunning traditional Hanok building. The design beautifully bridges local Korean heritage with the playful Dutch character.
Before heading inside, make sure to stop by the entrance for a photo. There are two incredibly unique photo zones featuring a giant Seokguram Grotto Miffy and a Cheomseongdae Observatory Miffy. It is the perfect blend of Gyeongju's rich history and modern pop culture!
3. Want Limited-Edition Goods? Head to the Main Building!
On weekend afternoons, the store is incredibly popular. Because the interior is cozy and intimate, staff limit the number of visitors inside at one time for safety. Once you enter, you'll naturally follow a one-way path through the displays.
The most important tip: the highly coveted, Gyeongju-exclusive limited-edition items are only sold in the Main Building.

Everything here is incredibly adorable. We picked up some limited-edition hanbok-clad Miffy plushies and cute keyrings, and I even grabbed a tiny Miffy pin to attach to my daily backpack. Keep an eye on your budget because it is very easy to lose track of spending here!
4. Looking for a Relaxed Vibe? Visit the Annex
Once you have finished shopping for limited-edition goods in the main building, head right next door to the Annex.
The Annex is significantly less crowded, making for a much more relaxed shopping experience. While it doesn't carry the Gyeongju-specific souvenirs, it is fully stocked with standard Miffy merchandise, practical stationery, pouches, and adorable tableware. If you are looking for cute items for everyday use, this is the perfect spot.

The narrow alleys near the store are often congested with cars and pedestrians, making parking very difficult. We recommend using the spacious Hwangridan-gil Public Parking Lot or Hwangnam Public Parking Lot, even though they are a bit of a walk from the store.
The main building primarily sells limited-edition goods exclusive to Gyeongju. In contrast, the annex focuses on practical items like stationery, pouches, and tableware, which can also be found in regular Miffy shops.
Large sculptures of a Seokguram Miffy and a Cheomseongdae Miffy are installed right in front of the store entrance. You can take commemorative photos in front of these sculptures, which harmonize beautifully with the traditional Hanok building.
