I just returned from an unforgettable honeymoon in Australia and New Zealand.
This was my husband's and my first overseas trip together for two weeks, so I was really excited!
And, well, since it was our honeymoon,
we decided to make the most of everything we wanted to do and simply enjoy it.
We kicked off our honeymoon with the
Incheon Airport Matina Lounge, which we were incredibly satisfied with.

My husband and I had never used a lounge before,
and we always thought lounges were super expensive
and only accessible if you had some special "qualification."
So, we decided to travel more often and switched to a credit card with mileage benefits.
We discovered that the Incheon Airport lounge offers N free entries,
and using our honeymoon as an excuse, we finally gave it a try!
It was much better quality than we expected, and I realized that
if you use partner websites wisely, you can enjoy a high-quality meal
at a more affordable price. So, I want to share that with you!

1. Incheon Airport Matina Lounge Terminal 1 Location

Incheon Airport Matina Lounges are located in both the East and West wings,
across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
I heard that the size and reviews vary greatly depending on whether it's the East or West wing, or which terminal it's in.
Instead of trying to find "the best," we opted for the most convenient location for our itinerary,
which turned out to be the
Incheon Airport Matina Lounge,
Terminal 1 East Wing.

If you walk towards Gate 11 in Incheon Airport Terminal 1 East Wing,
you'll see an escalator.
Go up to the 4th floor, and you'll find
the Matina Lounge Terminal 1 East Wing.

I heard there used to be long waits, but we got in right away without any queue
and found a seat to enjoy the Matina Lounge.
I recommend arriving at least 3 hours before your flight
to leisurely enjoy the lounge!
There were many high-quality dishes and a wide variety of menu options.
2. Credit Card Incheon Airport Lounge Terminal 1 Price

My husband was able to use the Matina Lounge for free thanks to his credit card's Incheon Airport lounge benefits.
While researching blogs, I learned that in some cases, spouses can also use the benefits together,
but it seems to vary by credit card.
Unfortunately, for me, it didn't work.
They said it's only for the credit card holder.

It was a bit of a bummer, but hey, it was still a fun and interesting first experience together!
I paid around ~$33 for myself, while my husband used his credit card benefits.
After returning from our amazing trip,
I realized that it's possible to use the Matina Lounge at a discounted price.

They say the more information you have,
the more you can enjoy.
It was my mistake for not doing enough research before visiting 😭
On the Waug website, they were selling tickets to major Korean airport lounges for ~$24 per person.

Use the lounge at a discounted price!
Even when I used it at a price over ~$29,
it didn't feel particularly cheap,
but the variety and quality of the menu were so good
that I didn't regret the price at all.
However, if you can use the lounge for the much cheaper price of
~$24,
it seems like a very smart move to
make good use of websites with benefits,
rather than going through the hassle of getting a credit card with Incheon Airport lounge benefits
and meeting its usage requirements.
3. Matina Food Review

Wine, beer, juice, bottled drinks, sodas —
there was a huge variety of drinks too,
and not a single disappointing one.
What I felt while eating the lounge food was that
each dish felt like a main course.
The quality was truly excellent.

Who comes all the way to a lounge just to eat
tteokbokki and ramyeon?
Me, that's who!
I was so curious that I tried the common tteokbokki and ramyeon,
and both the tteokbokki and sundae didn't taste cheap;
they had a delicious flavor that everyone would love.

Both Korean and Western dishes
were delicious, and the quality was excellent.

The variety of fruits and bakery items was incredible,
making eating so enjoyable that
I couldn't help but think of my parents.
On next year's trip with my parents,
I'll definitely bring them to the lounge so we can
travel comfortably and have a lot of fun! Haha!

My flight to Sydney was about 10 hours long,
and I had such a hearty meal before boarding
that I was incredibly full.
For Incheon Airport lounges,
rather than getting a credit card
just for lounge access,
using a site with discount benefits
and efficiently using it only when and as much as you need,
seems like a really smart way to go! =)
