Last weekend, I went to Masian Beach on Yeongjongdo Island to get some fresh air.
It's super famous for its tidal flat experiences, so I used to visit quite often when my son was younger.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous on the day of my visit, and the vibe was so perfect that we ended up staying to watch the sunset.
Today, I’m sharing my review of Masian Beach’s mudflat experience, including pricing, parking, and nearby facilities.

Masian Beach Parking & Weekend Vibes
I arrived around 3:00 PM, and there was surprisingly plenty of space in the parking lot.
It wasn't too hot to enjoy the mudflats yet; in fact, the sea breeze made it feel quite refreshing.
If you sign up for the mudflat experience, parking is free for 6 hours. Otherwise, it's ~$3 per hour.
The beach didn't feel overly crowded, which gave it a lovely, peaceful vibe that I absolutely loved!
Mudflat Experience & Snack Bar Pricing
It's a good idea to check the tide schedule before visiting the Masian Beach mudflats.
The closing times vary depending on the tide, and during my visit in June, everyone had to exit by 7:00 PM.

⭐ Mudflat Experience Admission ⭐
Adults: ~$6
Elementary Schoolers: ~$3
Preschoolers: ~$2
Visitors can use the gender-segregated changing rooms and the washing facilities on-site.
You can also hop on a wagon at the boarding station to head further out into the mudflats.
It costs ~$1 to ride out and ~$1 to return, and the wagons run quite frequently.
You can rent boots on-site, but it might be hard to find a perfect fit for little ones.
The mud is deeper than you might think, so kids might find chest-high waders much more comfortable.

There is also a snack bar at Masian Beach, which is great for grabbing a quick bite.
They serve Han River-style instant noodles as well as cup ramen. My son and I went with the cup ramen.

They even had a Lavazza automatic coffee machine,
with hot Americanos starting from just ~$2.
Even though it's a seaside snack shop,
the prices for ramen, coffee, and snacks were actually super reasonable.
Masian Beach is famous for its long, stretching shoreline,
offering a stunning, panoramic view of the ocean.
They also offer beach umbrella rentals,
making it the perfect spot to sit back, enjoy the breeze, and relax.
Oh, by the way, on the day I visited, there was a vendor selling hats and beach robes,
and the prices were actually cheaper than what you'd find online!
If you find yourself needing some beachwear,
they were set up near the benches right next to the restroom, so be sure to check them out! :)
The perfect spot for a quick weekend day trip
Maybe because the weather was so perfect, but the ocean looked incredibly beautiful,
and the overall atmosphere at the beach was so romantic and serene.
That day, my son and a friend he met there
tried out the mudflat experience and had a wonderful day reconnecting with nature.
I have a strict "no screens" rule for my son when we're outdoors,
as I believe just zoning out and doing nothing in nature is so good for the soul.
Just about an hour's drive from Seoul,
and you can find a beautiful ocean escape like this!
Around Masian Beach, there are plenty of trendy cafes and amazing local restaurants serving hot seafood noodle soup,
making it a fantastic spot for a weekend date.
Even if you don't do the mudflat activities, there are plenty of places
to enjoy delicious grilled clams with a panoramic ocean view. Definitely put this on your list!
Even though I live relatively close, it had been a while
since I last visited Masian Beach on Yeongjongdo Island.
The sunset was absolutely magical that day!

It was unusually quiet on the day I visited,
but please keep in mind that it's usually a very popular and bustling spot!

Visitors participating in the mudflat experience can use the parking lot for free for up to 6 hours. For those not participating, a parking fee of ~$3 per hour applies.
The mudflat experience fee is ~$6 for adults, ~$3 for elementary school students, and ~$2 for preschoolers. This fee includes the use of men's and women's changing rooms as well as laundry facilities.
Riding the cart into the mudflat costs ~$1, and coming back out costs ~$1. The carts run frequently, so you can conveniently board them as needed.
While you can rent boots on-site, it may be difficult to find the right size for children. Additionally, the mudflat is deeper than expected, so wearing chest waders makes it much easier for children to move around.
