Looking for Alternatives to Cesky Krumlov?
Karlovy Vary, a charming town near Prague!
It's a perfect day trip, just a two-hour drive away.
I'm sharing my actual experience of visiting, and
a complete guide on how to get there from Prague.

Karlovy Vary is a Czech spa city,
a classic retreat favored by European aristocracy.
It's great for a day trip or even an overnight stay from Prague.
You'll find drinking fountains with thermal spring water everywhere,
offering a truly unique experience!

The entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage site
and a romantic city where the International Film Festival is held every July.
* This year, the film festival is from 7/3 to 7/11.

While it might not be as famous as Cesky Krumlov to Koreans,
I personally think it's just as beautiful as Cesky Krumlov,
and a charming town near Prague.

Pastel-colored buildings line the narrow riverside,
and with fewer crowds than Cesky Krumlov, it's perfect for a stroll.
I remember the colors being incredibly pretty, even though it was overcast in October.
And of course, it's super photogenic : )

You'll see thermal spring water gushing out everywhere,
and you can freely collect and drink it.
We even bought cups sold on the street as souvenirs and carried them around.
They say each spring has different health benefits and flavors,
but honestly, to me, they all tasted like iron...
Still, since you're in Karlovy Vary, I recommend trying it at least once!

They also sell a traditional wafer called Oplatky.
It's a circular wafer cookie native to Karlovy Vary,
and it has a slight resemblance to Korean 'Jeonbyeong' (crispy rice crackers).
It's not an extraordinary taste, but it was a small delight : )
