And it stretches deep inside too.
Who said PNB Pungnyeon Bakery is *just* a place to grab Choco Pies? They were sorely mistaken!
It's not just Choco Pies,
they have *all* kinds of delicious bread!

Even their Mango Soft Choco Pie, which became an SNS sensation,
is a new addition!

If you find the regular Choco Pie a bit mundane,
you *have* to try the Peach Yogurt Choco Pie! It's a seasonal limited edition, so make sure to grab one before it's gone! Seriously, don't miss out!
Plus, on the second and third floors, there's a spacious, open cafeteria,

Since they open at 8 AM,
You can easily stop by and stock up before heading out of Jeonju,
Making it a hassle-free stop even on your way out of town.

The home of Jeollabuk-do's No. 1 Master Baker and Confectioner,
You can truly feel the master's touch here.

Let's dive into the signature lineup of PNB Pungnyeon Bakery's handmade Choco Pies,
shall we?
They go way beyond the classic original and mini Choco Pies, offering amazing varieties like:
Bousse White Choco Pie
Five-Grain Choco Pie, Black Choco Pie, Cream Cheese Choco Pie
Pateok Mocha Choco Pie, Rich Dark
Earl Grey Cinnamon Choco Pie, Matcha Choco Pie

And for the mini versions, they even have Baeknyeoncho (Prickly Pear Cactus) flavored ones! 💜

Oh my goodness...
What? A Dubai Choco Pie?! 🤯
Yes, they even have a Dubai Choco Pie! Unbelievable!
They used to have a Mint Choco Pie that had mint lovers' hearts fluttering,
And they keep bringing out trendy new Choco Pie flavors all the time.
This kind of innovation is only possible because they're handmade Choco Pies!

They also have *jeonbyeong* (Korean traditional thin cookies) that your parents (or any older relatives) would absolutely love,
And display samples of various gift sets, so it's easy to choose based on price and contents.
(Though, honestly, most of the older gentlemen just grab stacks of them without fuss!)

Spotlight On: Domestic Rice Flour Choco Pies!
Did you know this amazing fact?
PNB Pungnyeon Bakery in Jeonju offers something truly special:
Choco Pies made with domestic rice flour!
The Earl Grey, Cinnamon, and Matcha Choco Pies
Are all crafted using special domestic rice flour, marked with a 'rice' symbol.
This isn't just any rice flour; it's made from an internationally patented new variety of rice!
Unlike the regular rice we typically eat,
Introducing a brand new rice variety, specifically for rice flour!
Its starch is round and coarse, much like wheat,
which means it can be easily milled and used without needing to be soaked in water first.
This 'Garussal' (flour rice) is truly the start of something healthy!
It's so suitable for making flour that it can replace imported wheat,
thereby reducing Korea's reliance on imported food
and strengthening national food security.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korea Confectionery Association,
and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation are working together
currently partnering with domestic farms, food companies, and local bakeries
to develop a wide range of products.
So, even just to show our support,
we absolutely have to give it a taste, right?
Jeonju Pungnyeon Bakery Lineup
There's more than just Choco Pies here!
If Pungnyeon Bakery only made Choco Pies,
that would truly be a waste of their talent!
Even visiting early in the day,
the freshly baked breads were incredibly diverse and vibrant.

So, carefully grabbing a tray and tongs,
and after checking the origins of the ingredients,
it was time to pick out some delicious breads...

Considering their size,
the prices were incredibly affordable!
And rivaling the famous Chang-eok Tteok,
they even have the viral Pumpkin Injeolmi Butter Tteok!
With so many options, from delightful desserts
to breads light enough for a meal replacement,
I almost got decision paralysis trying to choose...

Don't forget to check out their drink menu!
One drink per person is required ✅

They even have a microwave for you to comfortably warm up your purchased bread,
and it's worth noting that all tableware is sterilized and disinfected,
ensuring a hygienic experience!
Jeonju Pungnyeon Bakery: 2nd Floor Cafeteria

Pungnyeon Bakery has always insisted on honest, quality products.
I can't believe the second floor was so spacious!
I really need to reflect on myself for always just grabbing my bread and leaving...

The 3rd-floor lounge can also be used as an experience space
(Naver reservation required),
which would surely create wonderful memories for children visiting Jeonju!

Wait, Ahn Jung-geun, the patriot?
Not only is it a bakery cafe,
but Pungnyeon Bakery Main Branch also operates
an Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall.

They have a variety of tables,
and even floor seating areas.

In the mirror,
I'll show off my "matching" couple items
with our Namjoon... (just kidding!)

smooth like butter
The lyrics that naturally pop into my head whenever I see butter...

A spacious area that can easily accommodate group travelers.
Jeonju Choco Pies are delicious, but
here's another bakery review for you!

From powdered rice choco pies,
to other delights made with powdered rice:
Baekseolgi Steamed Rice Cake with Chodang Corn
Pumpkin Injeolmi Butter Rice Cake
Matcha Choco Pie
Peach Yogurt Choco Pie
and Potato Ciabatta.

I ordered the
Potato Ciabatta
to eat as a breakfast substitute.
Topped with potatoes, cheese, and even green onions,
it was fragrant and wonderfully filling, thanks to those hearty potatoes!
A true meal replacement!

Even the plate was adorable with its yummy cat!
Baekseolgi~~
Since it's made with powdered rice,
it somehow feels even healthier!

The Pumpkin Injeolmi Butter Rice Cake was
so incredibly chewy and soft,
it vanished in an instant!
