Haegyeol Listening Room Jeonju: Your Hi-Fi Music Escape in 2026

Lately, a buzzing trend among K-pop enthusiasts in Korea has been the rise of exclusive listening sessions. Think curated sound experiences in intimate settings, often featuring beloved artists. For instance, in Seoul's Hongdae district, a popular sound curation space has hosted multiple sold-out sessions for BTS members like RM, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook, and Jin (with reservations famously backed up through late July!).

If you're anything like me, you've probably yearned for that kind of immersive audio experience. But let's be real, waiting a month for a trip to Seoul, or trying to snag those elusive tickets, isn't always feasible. My own Marshall speaker sits in a corner, and a record player? Forget about it! (Though, why do I keep collecting LPs then?)

That's why I was absolutely thrilled to discover a precious gem right here in Jeonju!

You can choose from different admission options: an entry ticket that includes a drink and snack, a basic admission fee, or a 1-hour pass. They even allow alcohol corkage!

And get this — they use Magpie & Tiger tea leaves for their beverages, which is a fantastic touch!

The mood of the music here changes daily, offering different vibes throughout the week:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday: Downbeat Session

Expect a more tranquil and mellow atmosphere with calm, reflective tunes.

Friday, Sunday: Upbeat Session

Get ready for an exciting, energetic vibe with genres like Punk Rock, Funk, Fast R&B, and Hip-hop.

The Listening Room Vibe & Audio Equipment

The space is equipped with premium Fine Audio speakers, crafted by engineers from the renowned Tannoy brand, along with top-notch amplifiers, turntables, and receivers.

They play your requested or selected songs from LPs or Spotify. When you first enter, the speaker volume is kept at a comfortable, slightly lower level.

Beyond the music, you'll find a selection of books and lifestyle products, all available for you to enjoy during your stay.

It's the perfect spot to organize your thoughts, get lost in contemplation, or simply relax with great music.

Listening to music from a plush sofa? Pure romance!

I chose the Magnolia Brown Rice Green Tea and ginger confit for my snack. You can even sample the teas at the counter before deciding, and they offer one refill!

They provide a paper for song requests. Normally, you can request one song, but depending on the situation, they might accept more. Luckily, I had the place almost to myself, so I ended up submitting a whole list of songs – score! ✌🏻

Initially, I tried to take a trip down memory lane to June 13th (a significant date for BTS fans) and requested BTS's "Magic Shop." The owner, however, politely asked for a different song, saying "K-pop is... um..." I couldn't believe they didn't know this masterpiece!

But I'm not one to give up! I subtly requested songs by RM and SUGA, disguised as non-K-pop tracks (mostly OSTs or collaborations), and successfully got to hear them. (Next time, I should request the Jirisan OST!)

While I can't fully capture the incredible sound here, you absolutely have to experience it yourself! 🎧💽

For Giveon, whose first concert of 2026 I attended this year, I wanted to save "Heartbreak Anniversary" for another time, so I picked a different setlist.

Thinking about the Oasis tour jersey I've been wearing almost like a uniform lately, I requested "Champagne Supernova" in commemoration of Oasis's first reunion anniversary.

Please play K-pop too! 😭 Mr. Owner, there are ballads in idol songs!

While I loved being able to request many songs, submitting them one by one to the counter can interrupt the immersion. It might be more convenient if they could take a few priority songs at once, and then play more if time allows.
