During my time living on Jeju Island, I was a massive regular here. I visited the physical restaurant constantly and ordered delivery to my home more times than I can count.

Before relocating to Sejong City in mid-June 2026, I wanted to relive some of my favorite culinary memories on the island, so I made sure to stop by Jeongjikhan Sushi one last time.

If you are staying at the Grand Hyatt in the Jeju Dream Tower, it is a quick 3-minute stroll away. Plus, being only a 15-minute drive from Jeju International Airport, it’s a fantastic transition point for your arrival or departure day.

There are about four parking spaces right in front of the building. However, because Nohyeong-dong is a bustling downtown district with narrow streets, finding an open spot during peak dining hours can be a bit of a challenge.

If you are staying at the Dream Tower, walking is definitely your best bet. If you’d prefer to lounge in your hotel room, ordering takeout or delivery via local apps is also a fantastic option.

This is a highly popular local spot for Nohyeong-dong residents, meaning it draws a steady crowd even on weeknights.

On my most recent weekday evening visit, we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Luckily, because there were only two of us, we got in relatively quickly. Larger families or groups might experience slightly longer wait times.

Expect longer queues on weekends or peak dinner hours. If you have a set schedule, I highly recommend checking out Naver Reservations in advance to secure your spot.

The absolute best parts about Jeongjikhan Sushi are the generously thick cuts of fresh fish and the incredible value for your money.

Even after not visiting for a while, I was thrilled to find that the quality hadn't changed one bit. The only thing that seemed different was the plate design—which was actually quite stylish!

Since we had already enjoyed a hearty round of Korean BBQ at Solji Restaurant Nohyeong for our first round of dinner, we decided to keep it light and enjoy our sushi alongside some cold draft beers.

One of the newest features that I absolutely loved during this visit was the ability to customize your rice portion.

If you are visiting for a light second round, or just want to pair your sushi with drinks without getting too full, you can request "half rice" (shari) for your pieces.

By reducing the rice, we were able to enjoy the pristine flavors of the fish without feeling overly stuffed, and the steaming bowl of complimentary udon made for the perfect comforting sidekick.

The Standouts: The Shrimp Sushi Trio

For me, the absolute stars of the platter are always the shrimp selections. Whether it's the sweet raw shrimp, the savory soy-marinated shrimp, or the classic cooked shrimp, they are all exceptional.

Jeongjikhan uses incredibly plump, thick shrimp that burst with natural sweetness and texture with every bite. It is a consistent highlight of their sets.

The roasted eggplant sushi and their signature futomaki are also phenomenal crowd-pleasers.

In fact, we love their futomaki so much that we decided to order an extra single roll on the side.

Do yourself a favor and order the extra Futomaki!

While the standard sushi set does come with one piece of futomaki, trust me—you’ll want to order a separate plate to avoid fighting your dining partner over the last piece!

At just ~$6 for a generous serving, it is an incredibly affordable add-on that you won't regret.

These massive rolls are stuffed to the brim with fresh salmon, crispy shrimp tempura, sweet Japanese omelet, and seasoned tofu skin. One bite completely fills your mouth with an explosion of textures and sweet-savory flavors!

Over my years of ordering here, I’ve also loved their Beef Tartare & Salmon Set, the Flatfish with Monkfish Liver (Ankimo), and their spicy Seafood Jjambbong ramen. Writing this makes me miss it so much—now I have to book a flight just to eat here!

Having frequented this spot since its early days, seeing it maintain such high standards of quality and service over the years makes it easy to understand why it remains a beloved neighborhood staple.

A Quick Note

The only minor drawback is the limited parking out front. If you are driving during peak hours, be prepared to navigate a bit of local traffic to find a spot.
