Hello everyone👋 I'm **Jju, your travel blogger**!
On the last day of my Gangneung trip, it felt a bit sad to just head home. So! I decided to take the full course and explore Jeongdongjin!
💡 How to get to Jeongdongjin from Gangneung?
👣 Travelers using public transport | Gangneung Station > Jeongdongjin Station 🚉 15 minutes by train |
🚗 Travelers with a car | 🚗 30 minutes by car |
By the way, getting from Gangneung to Jeongdongjin is super easy whether you're using public transport or driving your own car!

During my Jeongdongjin trip, I felt it would be a shame to just see the sea and leave, so after some thought about where to go, I visited Jeongdongjin Sculpture Park.
Jeongdongjin Sculpture Park is located inside the Sun Cruise Hotel & Resort. I heard that even if you're not a hotel guest, you can explore the sculpture park by just paying the entrance fee, so I decided to check it out!

So today, I'll share my review of visiting Jeongdongjin Sculpture Park without staying overnight, and give you a detailed look at the amazing views you can enjoy from Jeongdongjin Sun Cruise Hotel!

📍 Jeongdongjin Sculpture Park

The Sculpture Park, one of the Jeongdongjin Sun Cruise Hotel's amenities, is free for hotel guests! But even if you're not staying overnight, you can still enter by paying the admission fee.
It's a place where the Jeongdongjin sea unfolds like a painting, so if you love natural scenery, you absolutely must visit!
Exploring Sun Cruise Hotel & Resort

Just a 10-minute taxi ride from Jeongdongjin Station, and you'll spot a massive cruise ship-shaped building floating on the sea.
From the entrance, you can see the giant ship looking out over the ocean, making it instantly recognizable even from afar.

It looked massive in photos, but seeing it in person, the scale is absolutely enormous!
If my Jeongdongjin trip wasn't just for a day, I would have spontaneously thought, 'I want to stay here for a night!'
🏨 Sun Cruise is actually a fully functional hotel you can stay at!
This cruise ship-themed hotel, perched on the Jeongdongjin coastal cliff—a famous spot for sunrise—is one of Jeongdongjin's most popular accommodations. If you're staying a night in Jeongdongjin, why not give this place a try?

Imagine watching the sunset over the vast Jungdongjin sea 🌆 before bed, then waking up to witness the sunrise painting the ocean in the morning – that would be absolutely breathtaking!
🚢 Exploring Jungdongjin Sculpture Park

As it was a day trip on the final day of my Gangneung adventure, I didn't actually stay at the hotel.
Even if you're not a hotel guest, you can explore the Jungdongjin Sculpture Park for an entrance fee of ~$4. Honestly, I initially wondered if that fee would be worth it?

But oh, was I wrong! After exploring it myself, I found that you can see everything outside the Sun Cruise Hotel itself – including the sculpture park, observatory, and coastal walking trail – which was incredibly satisfying!

It was much more expansive than I imagined, and you could even use additional facilities like the observatory cafe at a discounted price!
The photo zones and coastal walking paths are especially well-designed, so if you're a nature lover, you definitely won't regret the entrance fee! 👍

If it had merely been a park with sculptures, it might have felt a bit dull. But with the Jungdongjin sea as a breathtaking backdrop and artworks thoughtfully placed everywhere, the entire landscape was simply stunning.
🏨 A Place I'd Love to Stay Next Time

This time, I only paid the entrance fee to visit the sculpture park, but after exploring it, I'm even more curious about staying overnight!
While I didn't get to experience the rooms this time, if I ever return to Jungdongjin, I'd absolutely love to spend a night at the Sun Cruise and fully enjoy its rooms and incredible facilities!

If you're dreaming of a stay during your Jungdongjin trip, it's definitely worth checking out the room types and rates by date to start planning your adventure!
