Incheon Jjukkumi Fishing 2026: Eunaho Boat Trip Review & Tips

With the webfoot octopus fishing ban lifting in September,

it's the absolute perfect time for webfoot octopus fishing!

My husband and I recently went

to Incheon for some webfoot octopus boat fishing.

Truth be told, the year before last, I tried webfoot octopus fishing once,

and couldn't catch a single one for hours! Haha.

I failed so miserably back then,

that I swore I'd never go webfoot octopus fishing again...

However, I had such a good experience fishing for rockfish and flounder at Euna Fishing before,

I caught quite a few fish,

and they were so good at teaching fishing techniques to beginners,

that I decided to give it another try this time.

The boat we boarded this time was the Euna-ho!

To cut to the chase,

I caught one, and my husband caught four.

While it's not a number to brag about, honestly,

for someone who previously caught zero, one is a monumental achievement! Haha.

From a fishing beginner's personal review of Incheon webfoot octopus fishing,

to parking and essential gear, I'll break it all down for you.

1. Namhang Pleasure Boat Dock Parking

📢 Location: 18, Chukhang-daero 166beon-gil, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon

📢 Alternative Parking: Incheon Comprehensive Fish Market Public Parking Lot

Office visit is mandatory before departure.

Euna Fishing is located within Incheon's Namhang Pleasure Boat Dock.

You can easily find it by searching for 'Namhang Pleasure Boat Dock' or

'Euna Fishing' on your navigation system.

There's a free parking lot within the dock,

and if you can snag a spot, parking here is definitely the most convenient.

However, on weekends, it gets very crowded,

so I recommend allowing a bit of extra time for parking.

We figure it's better to avoid the stress of finding parking,

so we sometimes just park a bit further away and walk.

We often use the Incheon Comprehensive Fish Market Public Parking Lot or

the Fish Market Private Parking Lot.

It's about a 10-minute walk to the dock,

and the daily parking fee is ~$7,

so it's a good alternative to keep in mind for weekends.

And a crucial tip: do NOT arrive exactly at the departure time!

Before you board the boat,

you'll need to fill out the passenger manifest at the Euna Fishing office,

arrange for rod rentals, and pick up any essential fishing gear.

If it's your first time, I definitely recommend arriving with plenty of buffer time.

2. Euna Fishing

Euna Fishing operates both shorter 'experience' boats and

full-day boats that venture further out to sea.

We opted for the experience boat, which runs for about 5 hours.

Fishing all day long is still a bit too much for my stamina... haha.

And if you're a beginner like me, who finds even the names of fishing gear intimidating,

the experience boat is definitely the easiest way to start.

They don't just drop you off and tell you to fish on your own after departure.

Before you officially begin,

they explain how to use the fishing rod, techniques for catching webfoot octopus,

and even safety rules.

Two crew members also come aboard,

so it was super convenient to ask them immediately if anything went wrong or if we had any questions while fishing.

This is something I really appreciated when I went

rockfish and flounder fishing with Euna Fishing before.

It might not seem like a big deal to experienced anglers,

but for someone like me, without someone guiding you,

your interest can totally plummet! LOL.

If you don't have your own gear, you can also rent fishing rods.

When I went, the

fishing rod rental fee was ~$7 per person,

and you could also purchase essential webfoot octopus fishing supplies like jigs (egis), leaders, and sinkers.

We brought some leftover gear from a previous trip,

but on this particular day, there was hardly any snagging,

so we only ended up using one or two pieces.

Still, the amount you might use can vary depending on sea conditions,

I highly recommend packing some spares.

3. The Eunaho Boat

The Eunaho, the boat we sailed on this time,

is a newly built experience vessel, launched just in 2024!

For me, while catching fish is great,

spending hours on a boat means its cleanliness

is secretly super important.

Overall, the Eunaho was impeccably maintained

with clean facilities and spacious indoor areas.

If you ever needed a break from fishing out on deck,

it was wonderful to pop inside and relax in the comfortable,

climate-controlled cabin.

And my biggest worry every time I step onto a boat?

Seasickness! 😫

I'm usually prone to seasickness, but perhaps because the Eunaho is such a large vessel,

I was surprisingly fine even without any motion sickness medicine!

Of course, seasickness can vary greatly from person to person

and depends entirely on the day's waves,

so if you're particularly prone to it,

it’s always a good idea to bring your medication just in case.

The restrooms were conveniently separated for men and women

and kept sparkling clean, which was another big plus for me.

Especially if you're planning an Incheon fishing trip with women or children,

definitely check out the boat's facilities beforehand!

What’s more, delicious tteokbokki snacks were served mid-trip,

and you could also enjoy complimentary coffee and bottled water.

Is there anything better than hot tteokbokki when you're out fishing?

It's just unbelievably delicious! 😂

You could even cook up the freshly caught jjukkumi with ramen right on board,

making it feel less like just fishing and more like a complete, immersive experience!

4. My Fishing Adventure Review

I managed to catch 1 jjukkumi, while my husband reeled in 4!

But guess what? The beginners right next to us

were pulling in almost 10 each...? 🤔

That's when a sudden realization hit me.

It wasn't the boat's fault, and it certainly wasn't the jjukkumi's fault;

it was simply that *we* weren't very good at it! 😂

Still, I was beyond thrilled because two years ago, I caught absolutely zero!

Back then, I spent hours just endlessly raising and lowering my rod,

only to return home empty-handed! 😭

This time, I felt a subtly satisfying tug at the end of my line,

and when I reeled it in, there it was – a jjukkumi, perfectly hooked!

It was just one, but oh, how incredibly welcome it was! 😄

One of the best reasons I think jjukkumi fishing is perfect for beginners

is that you don't have to handle live bait directly!

Instead of squirmy worms or slimy squid, you use 'egi' lures,

so even I, who isn't a fan of touching live bait,

could participate without any hesitation.

After this trip, I've definitely developed a little 'egi' envy!

Watching the pros around us reel in their catches, I picked their brains for tips,

and next time, we're totally planning to experiment with a wider variety of egi designs ourselves!

Our egi lures weren't particularly flashy,

but next time, I'm thinking of packing a few dazzling, sparkly ones to swap between and see what works!

Of course, I know changing one egi isn't going to magically net us 100 jjukkumi overnight! 😂

And here's something hilarious that happened that day:

an experienced angler, an 'ajumma' (auntie) fishing nearby, seemed to have been keeping an eye on us!

Perhaps she took pity on our rather dismal catches,

because she suddenly shared four freshly caught cuttlefish with us! 😂

She not only shared her amazing fishing tips but also gave us some of her jjukkumi —

I was so incredibly grateful! 🥰

Two years ago, I didn't catch a single one and simply gave up, thinking,

'Well, jjukkumi fishing just isn't my thing.'

But this time, after finally experiencing that satisfying 'tug' on the line,

I'm already eager to try again!

5. Who Would Love This Experience

Having experienced it firsthand, I can confidently say that Incheon webfoot octopus boat fishing

is a fantastic activity, even for those who have never cast a line before!

It truly was an exceptional experience.

And especially if you're like me and not exactly thrilled about handling live bait,

you'll find this much less daunting than traditional fish fishing.

When I went, there were plenty of first-timers,

and even elementary school-aged kids were happily reeling them in with their parents.

So, for families looking for a unique weekend adventure with their little ones,

I think it's an absolutely brilliant option.

It's also a superb idea for couples or spouses looking for an unforgettable date!

We kept playfully comparing our catches,

and since it was a complete departure from our usual dates,

it was surprisingly fun! 😉

If you're completely new to fishing,

there's absolutely no need to splurge on a full set of rods and gear

right away.

Following my lead, you can simply rent a fishing rod,

pack just the essentials,

and embark on an experiential Incheon boat fishing adventure to get started.

What I appreciated most, above all,

was the immediate assistance available for confused beginners,

and the clear explanations of how to fish before we even started made everything incredibly easy.

The boat facilities were also impeccably clean,

ensuring not a single uncomfortable moment during our hours on the water.

Someone I know caught zero on a trip two years ago

and swore they'd never go back,

but this time they reeled in one

– and guess what? They're already planning their next fishing adventure! 😂

Next time, I'm going to properly prepare my EGI jigs and set my sights on catching at least five webfoot octopus!
