A place I really wanted to visit with my child.
= This place.

But as I actually explored the alleys,
I found there were more inclines and stairs than I expected.

I wasn't confident repeatedly going up and down these sections with my child,
so this time, while they were at daycare,
my husband and I went on a day trip near Seoul
for a date.

Our goals for the day were precisely three:
Have lunch with Jajangmyeon, Tangsuyuk, and Xiaolongbao,
Explore the Jajangmyeon Museum,
And finally, enjoy a cup of milk tea.
Of course, there was one condition:
To finish all our plans and return before our child's pick-up time from daycare.

So, instead of trying to fit in too many sights
in Incheon Chinatown,
we focused on where we could park just once
and walk to all three spots:
our meal, the museum, and the cafe.
This helped us plan a half-day itinerary.

First, check out this short video

01. Incheon Chinatown Parking: Simplifying Our Half-Day Itinerary

We parked our car in a public parking lot
and walked for the rest of our itinerary.

📍 Chinatown Public Parking Lot
28-12 Chinataun-ro 44beon-gil, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
When we looked into parking in Incheon Chinatown,
what we considered first wasn't the cost, but rather our subsequent itinerary.
For a half-day schedule, it was more important
whether the parking location allowed us to easily connect our restaurant, museum,
and final cafe stop without needing to move the car.

Especially when you have a set return time,
moving the car once for a meal, once for sightseeing,
and again for a cafe adds extra time in between, doesn't it?

By parking in a spot where we could walk to all three locations
from the start,
we didn't need to search for parking again,
and we could move on to the next stop
without moving the car.

We designated the public parking lot
as both the starting and
ending point of our outing that day.
02. Our Half-Day Date Itinerary, Starting at 10:30 AM
This day trip near Seoul
began with our departure at 10:30 AM.
Public Parking Lot |
→ Lunch at Shandong Kitchen |
→ Around 12 PM, Jjajangmyeon Museum |
→ Alley Exploration |
→ Around 1:30 PM, Gabbaechagwan Cafe |
→ Head Home |
Since we weren't planning a full-day stay,
we decided to narrow down the must-see spots
in Incheon Chinatown to just two or three from the get-go.

For us, it wasn't about 'how many places we saw,'
but more about completing our planned itinerary
and getting back before our child's school pick-up time.

By planning to stroll a little longer through the alleys if we had extra time,
and cutting out additional spots if we were short,
it was easy to seamlessly flow into our final activity without feeling rushed.
03. Lunch at Shandong Kitchen: Kicking Things Off with Jjajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk!

Our very first stop was Shandong Kitchen.
It's well-known for being featured on 'Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan,'
and we happily ordered the Jjajangmyeon, Tangsuyuk, and Xiaolongbao
we had been craving for the day!

Address | 38, Chinatwon-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon |
Opening Hours | 10:30 AM - 8:00 PM |
Break Time | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM |
Closed | Every Tuesday |
📍 Shandong Kitchen
Bukseong-dong 2-ga, 38, Chinatwon-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
Given our limited time for a day trip near Seoul,
we made sure to grab our meal right after arriving.

By making lunch our first priority,
we didn't have to stress about restaurant hours later
and could fully immerse ourselves in the museum and cafe experiences.

Best of all, heading straight to the Jjajangmyeon Museum
right after enjoying our jjajangmyeon created a seamless flow,
making our meal and the next attraction feel like one continuous, delightful experience.
04. Exploring the Jjajangmyeon Museum: A Perfect Follow-Up to Lunch!

📍 Jjajangmyeon Museum
56-14, Chinatwon-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
Our chosen attraction in Incheon Chinatown this time
was none other than the Jjajangmyeon Museum!
Category | Jjajangmyeon Museum |
Address | 56-14, Chinatwon-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon |
Operating Hours | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM |
Last Admission | 30 minutes before closing |
Closed | Every Monday |

We stepped inside around 12 PM.

Instead of trying to cram too many must-see spots into our initial plan,
we decided to center our visit around one key museum
and then use any extra time to wander and explore the charming alleys.

This approach meant that even if our schedule got a little delayed,
we wouldn't have to drastically cut into our cherished final cafe time.

If you're planning a day trip to Incheon Chinatown from Seoul with a set time to head back,
rather than trying to cram in all the sights in one day,

it's more realistic to prioritize how smoothly your dining spot connects to your next attraction,
rather than just counting how many places you've seen.
05. 1:30 PM: Winding Down with Milk Tea at Gabaechagwan

📍 Chinatown Cafe Gabaechagwan
1st floor, 46-1 Chinatarown-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
Our final destination was Gabaechagwan.
Located at 46-1 Chinatarown-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon,
we popped in around 1:30 PM for some delicious milk tea before preparing for our journey home.

Since we'd already enjoyed lunch and explored the museum,
putting the cafe at the end of our itinerary meant no need to rush off to another destination.
That day, we sorted out our parking in Incheon Chinatown just once,
then happily walked to every single spot: from Sandong Jubang to the Jjajangmyeon Museum,
and finally to Gabaechagwan.

Ultimately, for a smooth half-day itinerary,
our parking spot in Incheon Chinatown truly dictated our entire flow.

This time, my husband and I explored all three planned spots on foot,
but if we'd had our child with us, I'd definitely have shortened our walking path even more,
keeping those uphill climbs and stairs in mind.

Instead of trying to conquer all of Incheon Chinatown's sights in one single day,
I recommend picking one mouth-watering dish, one must-see attraction,
and one delightful dessert to wrap things up.

For those with a return deadline, like us needing to be back before our child's school pick-up,
this kind of thoughtful itinerary made time management a breeze!

If I were to embark on a half-day trip from Seoul again,
my first step would absolutely be figuring out Incheon Chinatown parking!

Then, by strategically linking your dining, museum visit, and cafe stop in close proximity,
you'll save precious time moving and re-parking your car,
making it incredibly smooth to stick to your return schedule.

Instead of trying to squeeze in too many spots,
focusing on a compact route from the very beginning is key!
This was the guiding principle we prioritized for our recent adventure.

📍 Chinatown Public Parking Lot
28-12 Chinatarown-ro 44beon-gil, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
📍 Sandong Jubang
38 Chinatarown-ro, Bukseong-dong 2-ga, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
📍 Jjajangmyeon Museum
56-14 Chinatarown-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
📍 Chinatown Cafe Gabaechagwan
1st floor, 46-1 Chinatarown-ro, Jemulpo-gu, Incheon
And that wraps up our suggested itinerary for today!
I wish you safe and wonderful travels,
and I'll be back soon with more exciting adventures! :)
