Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to Imone Pocha, a place I frequently visit near Jakjeon Station, known for its charming, nostalgic atmosphere!

When the weather is nice, they throw open their folding doors, allowing you to fully soak in that classic outdoor pocha vibe unique to Jakjeon Station pubs. With such a diverse menu, it's also a fantastic spot for a casual dinner and drinks if you're looking for a great restaurant in Jakjeon-dong.

How to Make a Reservation

Making a reservation at Imone Pocha is easy – just give them a call! If you're planning to order dishes that take a bit longer to prepare, like the spicy braised chicken stew (Dakbokkeumtang), or if you want to snag a window seat to enjoy the evening breeze, I highly recommend calling ahead.

Just a short stroll from Jakjeon Station Exit 5, you'll spot the eye-catching red sign of Imone Pocha. Inside, it's styled like a traditional indoor pojangmacha (tent pub), creating a wonderfully cozy and familiar atmosphere.

At Imone Pocha, a true Jakjeon-dong culinary gem, you can enjoy an incredible variety of dishes! From grilled specialties to hearty stews, noodles and rice, stir-fries, savory pancakes, and blanched or seasoned delights – there's something for everyone. Review

After we placed our order, the staff brought out a generous spread of homemade side dishes. We're talking delicious black beans (kongjaban), savory fish cake stir-fry (eomuk-bokkeum), and a refreshing bean sprout soup (kongnamul-guk)! These alone are enough to get through a bottle of soju before the main course even arrives!

Then, the star of the show made its grand entrance: the Spicy Braised Chicken Stew (Dakbokkeumtang)! We had called ahead to reserve, so it arrived at our table quite quickly.

The visual was absolutely incredible, piled high in the hot pot! We kept it simmering over a burner, ensuring every bite stayed warm and flavorful until the very end.

What's the first piece of chicken you go for in a Dakbokkeumtang? For me, it's always the drumstick!

Imone Pocha's Dakbokkeumtang includes green chili peppers, giving it a pleasantly spicy kick that's just right, even for those who aren't huge fans of extreme heat. If you're sensitive to spice, you can always ask them to adjust the level when you order!

And the onions in the stew? They're incredibly sweet these days! Pairing the saucy, tender chicken with those perfectly seasoned onions is an absolute delight.

Since I was with a regular, the friendly owner even gave us three fried eggs on the house to help balance the spice! Talk about amazing hospitality!

Thanks to that thoughtful gesture, we happily finished three bottles of soju! What a perfect ending to the meal!

And here's a peek at the Chilled Acorn Jelly Soup (Muksabal) we had on a previous visit. As the weather warms up, this cool, tangy, and sweet dish makes for an incredibly refreshing and delicious accompaniment to drinks!
