Hwanglidan-gil Parking Guide 2026: Free Public Lots & Tips
Tired of Gyeongju parking hassles? Our 2026 guide uncovers a temporarily free, massive public parking lot near Hwanglidan-gil, perfect for your next visit!

Hey there, fellow travelers! I'm Yappi, and my husband and I are absolutely smitten with Gyeongju. It's our go-to spot for weekend getaways and romantic dates, even before we tied the knot!
While Gyeongju is packed with incredible sights and experiences, there's one thing that always used to get under our skin: the parking situation! It can be a real headache, right? 😭
That's why, whenever we visited Gyeongju, I always used the Jjoksaem District Public Parking Lot, which is conveniently close to Daereungwon Tomb Complex.

However, during a recent quick trip to Gyeongju for my husband's work, I stumbled upon some amazing news: there's a temporarily free public parking lot available! 👏 Of course, I had to check it out right away!

🅿️ A massive lot for 900 vehicles! Visit before it becomes paid!

When I visited, I confirmed it can indeed accommodate up to 900 vehicles. The lot is incredibly spacious, just as large as the Jjoksaem District Public Parking Lot I used to frequent, so finding a spot is super easy! 👍

As of our visit on September 3, 2026, it was still operating for free, so the barrier gates weren't lit up.

However, seeing the pre-payment machines installed on one side of the parking lot, it looks like it will transition to paid parking soon! 😭 So, if you're planning a trip or a date in Gyeongju, I highly recommend visiting and taking advantage of this free parking before the fees kick in!

We conveniently parked here, took a pleasant walk to Hwanglidan-gil for a delicious lunch, and then enjoyed a relaxing coffee at a charming cafe with an unobstructed view of the ancient royal tombs! ☕️🌸
