Even before we got married, Gyeongju was our go-to for dates. And while there are countless amazing places to explore, one thing always gave us a headache: parking! Finding a decent spot could be a real challenge, right? 😭
That's why whenever we visited Gyeongju, we always relied on the
Jjoksaem District Public Parking Lot, conveniently located near Daereungwon Tomb Complex.

However, on a recent trip to Gyeongju for my husband's work, we planned a quick stroll around. To our delight, we stumbled upon some incredible news: a
new, temporarily FREE public parking lot had opened up! 👏 So, we immediately headed over to check it out!

Upon visiting, we confirmed it can indeed hold up to 900 vehicles.
This lot is just as massive as the Jjoksaem District Public Parking Lot we used to frequent, offering incredibly ample parking spaces! 👍
As of our visit on September 3, 2026,
it was still operating for free, with no lights on the entry barriers.
However, seeing the pre-payment machines already installed on one side of the lot, it seems likely that paid operation will begin soon! 😭
So, if you're planning a trip or a romantic date in Gyeongju, I highly recommend visiting and taking advantage of this free parking while you still can!

We conveniently parked here, then enjoyed a pleasant walk to Hwanglidan-gil for a delicious lunch. Afterward, we savored a cup of coffee at a charming cafe with breathtaking, unobstructed views of the ancient royal tombs. It was the perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon ☕️🌸.
Exploring various spots around Gyeongju, we noticed vibrant flowers blooming everywhere!
It feels like the perfect time for an autumn outing or a delightful flower viewing trip!
