Dreaming of Cinque Terre but worried about high prices? Hotel Ghironi in La Spezia offers an excellent, affordable alternative with convenient access and great amenities.
Planning an Italian adventure and dreaming of Cinque Terre?
It's a must-visit, but finding the right accommodation can be a real headache, right?

Staying directly in one of the Cinque Terre villages can be incredibly pricey.
But opting for something too far out means inconvenient travel...
My family faced this exact dilemma, and our solution was to choose La Spezia.
Among the options in La Spezia, we stayed at Hotel Ghironi.
It offered excellent value for money, and the staff were incredibly friendly,
making it an overall satisfying stay :)

Unfortunately, I don't have many personal photos of the accommodation from our trip then ㅠㅠ
So, I'll be using photos from the hotel's website.
(The only photo I have is of my sister completely passed out after a long drive! haha)
But don't worry, I've covered everything from breakfast and room condition to location,
and even a price comparison across different booking sites,
so you can easily get all the information you need!

Location & Transportation

For those unfamiliar, La Spezia might be a new name,
but it's a highly popular city chosen as a base for Cinque Terre trips.
You can reach Riomaggiore, the first village of Cinque Terre, by train
in just 7-9 minutes.
Hotel Ghironi is located on the east side of La Spezia's harbor
and offers free parking, which is especially great for those traveling by rental car, like we did.
There's also a bus stop conveniently close by, making getting around a breeze.
Our 4-Person Room Experience

Our room was spacious and comfortable.
It had a balcony, which seemed to overlook a school, and it was nice to step out for a quick look around in the mornings.

To be completely honest, the facilities aren't brand new or ultra-modern.
However, it was clean and perfectly adequate, and considering the price,
it was definitely a satisfying experience :)
Breakfast Review

Breakfast is served daily, and it was surprisingly good quality!
The scrambled eggs, in particular, were incredibly fluffy and smooth – my parents are still talking about them to this day, even after the trip! haha

They still mention those scrambled eggs every weekend morning, which tells you just how delicious they were!
With fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, and a variety of pastries,
it was a great way to start our mornings feeling energized.
Booking Site Price Comparison
Prices for the same hotel can vary significantly across different booking sites,
