For those of you preparing for an upcoming trip to Venice,
Are you wondering about where to stay?
I also struggled with whether to stay on the main island or near Mestre Station.
After much thought, I decided to stay at Hotel Plaza, right in front of Mestre Station.

Today, I'll share why I chose Hotel Plaza and my actual experience staying there.
❗️Plus, I'll reveal how you can book it affordably further down.
Considering Your Accommodation Location in Venice?
For those of you visiting Venice for the first time,
I'll give you a quick overview of Venice using the map below.

Venice is broadly divided into the main island and the mainland.
While most tourist attractions are on the main island,
accommodation there can be quite expensive, and all transportation relies on water ferries,
which can be inconvenient when you're lugging heavy suitcases.

Therefore, I highly recommend staying on the mainland, specifically near Mestre
Train Station, rather than the main island.
Mestre Station boasts excellent accessibility, especially if you're arriving by train
from other cities.
What's more, it's only about a 10-minute train ride or a 20-minute bus journey to the main island,
making it a perfectly convenient area for your travels.

Best of all, Hotel Plaza, which I'm introducing today, is located right in front of Mestre Station.
It's just a one-minute walk to both the bus stop and the train station, offering truly superb access
to the main island and the airport.
Additionally, many travelers to Venice often take bus tours to the nearby Dolomites.
The bus tour meeting point is also right in front of Hotel Plaza, making it super convenient
for early morning departures.

Finally, unlike the notoriously expensive main island,
the area around Mestre Station is relatively affordable.
Hotel Plaza, despite being a 4-star hotel,
can be booked for around ~$150 on weekdays and ~$225 on weekends,
making it a budget-friendly option.

Still, you're probably curious about how to book it at the absolute lowest price to save on your travel expenses!
After comparing various agencies, I found that booking through the link below was the most affordable option.❗️
This is the site I actually used to make my reservation,
so check out the link below to book it at a great price!

Next, I'll share my review of staying at Hotel Plaza.
Hotel Plaza Check-in and Lobby

The check-in and check-out times for Venice Hotel Plaza are as follows:
Check-in: 3 PM
Check-out: 12 PM
We arrived at the hotel around 2:30 PM,
and thankfully, they allowed us to check in early.

The Plaza Hotel lobby felt sophisticated
and really neat overall.
Plus, it was great to find plenty of spaces for relaxation
or working on your laptop on the 1st and 2nd floors.

The second floor, in particular, was like a gallery with so many framed artworks,
which made it really fun to look around.

Perhaps because The Plaza Hotel is so popular with Koreans,
I was fascinated to find a world clock that also displayed
Korean time!

On the first floor, there was a restaurant where you could have
hotel breakfast or other meals, and the prices were pretty reasonable.
What's more, with three elevators running simultaneously,
there was absolutely no inconvenience when using them.
Classic Double Room Review

The room type I booked was a Classic Double Room,
and I was assigned to Room 724 on the 7th floor.

The Classic Double Room was divided into a bedroom and a bathroom,
and the room size was quite spacious—even enough to fully open
two 28-inch suitcases without feeling cramped.

From Room 724, I could enjoy an outward view that was
partially unobstructed, offering a refreshing glimpse of the surroundings.

Inside the room, you'll find a bed, a table, chairs, a full-length mirror,
a TV, a refrigerator, a closet, and more.
The Plaza Hotel's double bed was spacious and wonderfully soft,
making it incredibly easy to drift off to sleep!
With lamps on both sides, it was super convenient to switch off the lights before bed.

The mini-bar in the refrigerator stocked sparkling drinks, beer, water,
and other beverages.
Please note that all of these are chargeable items, so you'll be billed if you consume them!

An antique-style wardrobe and a comfy chair were also set up in one corner,
and inside the closet, you'll find hangers and a safe for your valuables.
There was even a full-length mirror, which was perfect for checking my outfit of the day (OOTD)
before heading out!

Next, let me introduce you to the bathroom.
Just like the room, the bathroom was quite spacious,
and what I loved most was having a bathtub!

By the sink, you'll find basic amenities like soap,
a shower cap, hand wash, and a hairdryer.
Following the eco-friendly policies of most European hotels,
items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and face wash are not provided.
So, remember to pack those separately!

There's a bathtub and shower combined,
perfect for a relaxing soak to soothe your tired legs.
As for amenities, you'll find hand wash and conditioner dispensers.
I noticed the hand wash seems to double as a body wash and shampoo,
which is quite convenient!
Many hotels don't provide conditioner, leaving my hair feeling rough,
but I was so pleased that Plaza Hotel did!
It really made a difference.

Finally, tucked away in the innermost part of the bathroom, you'll find the toilet
and even a bidet!
I found the European-style bidet quite unique and interesting.
Just a heads-up: the towel hanging above the bidet
is specifically for bidet use, so please don't use it for your face or hands!
For Your Venice Accommodation, Choose Plaza Hotel!

If you're wondering about the best place to stay in Venice,
you'll be incredibly satisfied if you choose Plaza Hotel, right in front of Mestre Station.
Whether you're arriving from another Italian city or heading to the main island,
you can catch trains or buses right in front of the hotel,
making transportation incredibly convenient.
Plus, the airport bus stop is just about a 5-minute walk away,
so even with luggage, getting around is a breeze.

Best of all, in Venice, known for its high prices,
getting 4-star hotel quality
at a price range of ~$150-~$225 offers incredible value for money.
I highly recommend booking the Plaza Hotel!
