Hotel Associa Shizuoka Review 2026: Triple Rooms
Looking for the perfect base for your Mt. Fuji adventures? Discover why Hotel Associa Shizuoka's triple rooms and location are ideal for families in 2026.
Looking for the perfect Japanese small-city getaway?
Let's talk about why Shizuoka should be on your radar!

Unlike the bustling streets of Tokyo or Osaka, Shizuoka offers a much more relaxed pace,
all while boasting some of the most spectacular, up-close views of Mount Fuji.
It's no wonder it's becoming a favorite off-the-beaten-path destination for global explorers.

During our recent trip to Shizuoka, we stayed at
Hotel Associa Shizuoka.
Here is my full review of their Triple Room, along with some essential airport transit tips to make your journey smoother.
1. Where to Stay in Shizuoka: Why the JR Station Area Wins

When searching for accommodation in the city,
you'll quickly notice two main hubs: JR Shizuoka Station and Shin-Shizuoka Station.
It's easy to get confused about which one is better.
I had the exact same dilemma,
but let me save you the trouble:
I highly recommend basing yourself near JR Shizuoka Station.

JR Shizuoka Station is the ultimate transit hub for the area, serving both the Shinkansen (bullet train) and local JR lines.
This makes planning your daily itineraries incredibly efficient.
Especially if you plan on taking day trips toward Mount Fuji or exploring neighboring regions,
staying near the JR station is a total game-changer.

On top of that, major local attractions like
Sunpu Castle Park and the bustling Gofukucho shopping street
are easily walkable from the JR station area (mostly within a half-mile radius).
While Shin-Shizuoka Station is decent for local city access,
it primarily serves regional lines,
making it a bit inconvenient if you're planning longer-distance travel.
2. Why We Chose Hotel Associa Shizuoka
There are plenty of hotels around the station,
but when it comes to sheer location and convenience, Hotel Associa Shizuoka takes the crown.

✅ Just a 2-minute walk from the North Exit
The signage inside Shizuoka Station is excellent.
If you follow the signs to the North Exit, you'll literally see the hotel building right in front of you as you step outside.
Even if you have zero sense of direction, you won't get lost here!
But there was one major reason that sealed the deal for us:
The airport bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel.

The Shizuoka airport bus operates on a first-come, first-served basis rather than a reservation system,
meaning people often line up well before departure.
We had an early morning flight to catch,
and having the bus stop literally steps from the lobby meant
we didn't have to drag heavy suitcases across town at the crack of dawn.

While waiting for the bus, we were able to relax in the hotel lounge
and enjoy the complimentary coffee provided for guests.
If you're traveling with kids or older parents,
this level of convenience alone makes the hotel worth every penny.
3. Triple Room Review: Perfect for a Family of Three

Since we were traveling as a family of three,
we booked a Triple Room.
Japanese hotel rooms are notoriously compact,
so I honestly wasn't expecting much space.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by how roomy it was.

Even with three beds in the room, there was plenty of floor space left over
to comfortably open and organize our suitcases.
The interior design does show a bit of its age,
but the overall maintenance and cleanliness were impeccable.

The bedding was crisp and comfortable,

and the bathroom was spotless.

Initially, I was a little worried about potential train noise
since the hotel is right next to the tracks.
However, the soundproofing was surprisingly good,
and we didn't experience any noise disturbances during the night.

Because it's quite a large-scale hotel,
the lobby area is spacious and has a very welcoming atmosphere.
The staff communicated well in English,
so international travelers who don't speak Japanese will feel completely at ease here.

After checking in and dropping off our bags, we headed out to explore Sunpu Castle and Gofukucho Street.
Everything was within a comfortable walking distance, making it a fantastic base for sightseeing.

There's a Lawson convenience store right on the ground floor,
and the shopping mall inside the station is open late,
so you have all the infrastructure you could possibly need nearby.
While Shizuoka isn't a massive metropolis,
it also doesn't feel like a sleepy rural town.
It strikes the perfect balance, making it an ideal entry point for exploring Japan's smaller cities.
Unfortunately, because we had to catch the early morning airport bus the next day,
we had to skip the hotel breakfast.
I've heard their breakfast buffet is quite famous for featuring fresh, local Shizuoka ingredients,
so if you have the time in your itinerary, booking a room with breakfast included seems like a great idea.
4. Pricing & Booking Tips
For a double room, weekday rates typically range from ~$115 to ~$150,
while weekends and peak seasons in 2026 generally start around ~$150 and up.
Compared to the budget business hotels around the station that run under ~$75,
it might seem a little pricey at first glance.
But after actually staying there, considering the:
✅ Unbeatable location right outside the station
✅ Airport bus stop at the front door
✅ Generous room sizes (perfect for families)
✅ Easy access to local attractions
I honestly believe the price is more than justified.
If you're traveling with kids
or simply want to minimize dragging heavy luggage around,
I highly recommend this hotel.
Since promotional offers vary by platform,
I recommend comparing prices across these sites
once you've locked in your Shizuoka travel dates.

Because Hotel Associa Shizuoka is highly sought after
by both tourists and business travelers,
specialty rooms like the Triple Room tend to book out fast.
