Shizuoka Accommodation Recommendation: Fujinomiya Fujikyu Hotel with Mt. Fuji Views and Breakfast
Even after spending two nights on my trip to Shizuoka, Japan,
I still wished I could stay longer at Fujinomiya Fujikyu Hotel.
Its location right in front of the station is fantastic, making it easy to get to tourist attractions,
and best of all, the Mt. Fuji view rooms are incredibly affordable!
Even with breakfast included, it was less than ~$69 per night,
so I got to enjoy a great value-for-money trip to see Mt. Fuji.

1. Fujikyu Hotel
Shizuoka Fujikyu Hotel boasts an excellent location,
right in front of Fujinomiya Station and the bus terminal,
making travel to Fuji Station, Shizuoka Station, the airport, and more, super convenient.
What's more, public transportation to famous Mt. Fuji view tourist spots like Shiraito Falls,
Lake Tanuki, and local farms is excellent,
making this hotel highly recommended for travelers relying on public transport!

The room types available at Fujikyu Hotel, a recommended Shizuoka accommodation,
include single, twin, and double rooms. For rooms on the 5th floor and above,
north-facing rooms offer stunning Mt. Fuji views directly from your window!
When booking, make sure the view is listed as 'Mountain View' to secure a room with Mt. Fuji views,
so keep that in mind. And because they're highly popular and sell out fast,
if you're planning a trip to Shizuoka, you should book it right away.

I booked too late, so I didn't get a Mt. Fuji view room.. 🥲
But it was a hazy day anyway, so even if I had been on a higher floor,
I probably wouldn't have seen Mt. Fuji, so it was actually fine.
For consecutive nights, towels are replenished separately,
and basic amenities can be picked up on the 1st floor,
just take what you need.
2. Single Room
Fujikyu Hotel, a recommended accommodation in Shizuoka,
is typical in size for a Japanese business hotel,
and the single room was just the right size for one person.
They even had two types of room slippers available,
a sturdy pair of house shoes and disposable slippers,
so you can choose whatever suits you best.
The bed was soft and the bedding was great, so I slept really well,
and there was also a yukata laid out, perfect for sleepwear.
Next to the bed, there was a USB port and a 110V outlet,
which was perfect for charging my phone.
The table was a good size to use as a vanity,
and with a light switch and a 110V outlet,
it was perfect for using a curling iron or hairdryer.
Toilet paper, deodorant, an electric kettle, and various teas were also provided,
and although the refrigerator was on the smaller side,
during my Shizuoka trip, the only thing I needed to keep in the hotel fridge
was beer 👀, so it wasn't really an inconvenience.
If you're staying multiple nights at Fujinomiya Hotel Fujikyu,
you can request cleaning service. If you prefer not to have it,
you can simply hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your doorknob.
Even without requesting cleaning, they still provide basic amenities,
yukata, and fresh towels.
3. Breakfast
Breakfast at Shizuoka Fujikyu Hotel is served at the 1st-floor restaurant
from 6:45 AM to 8:30 AM.
Since it's a budget-friendly hotel, I didn't have high expectations for breakfast,
but it was so delicious that I refilled my plate once more and totally indulged! LOL.
There wasn't a huge variety of food, like bacon & sausage, natto, yakisoba, and salad,
but most of the options were light,
making it perfect for breakfast.
The curry here is seriously delicious, so you absolutely have to try it!
You can also have a simple meal with yogurt and cereal.
Coffee, water, other beverages, and ice are also well-provided.
With Fujinomiya Station and the bus terminal just 30 seconds away,
and a convenience store and Aeon Mall nearby, the location is absolutely fantastic 👍.
