Kawaguchiko's Oishi Park is a truly magical spot, offering incredible views of Mount Fuji framed by vibrant seasonal flowers!
While it's a bit of a distance from Kawaguchiko Station, a scenic 30-minute ride on the Red Line bus will get you there.
Let's dive into how to easily reach Oishi Park.
1. Getting to Oishi Park

Kawaguchiko Station has several bus stops right outside, but to get to Oishi Park, you'll need to take the Red Line bus from Stop 1!

Buses run approximately every 30 minutes, but the timetable isn't always exact. It's wise to arrive at the bus stop about 5 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure you don't miss your ride!

Like most buses in Japan, you'll board the Red Line bus through the rear door.
Both IC cards (like Suica or Pasmo) and cash are accepted. If you're using an IC card, simply tap it on the reader when you board and again when you exit, just like you would in many other countries.
However, paying with cash has a slightly unique system!

Typically, when boarding via the rear door, you'd take a numbered ticket (整理券, seiriken) from a machine. When you exit, you'd match your ticket number to the fare displayed on the front screen.
However, since Kawaguchiko Station is the starting point for the Red Line, no tickets are dispensed when you board there.
Tickets only start appearing after 2-3 stops. Don't worry! If you boarded at the first stop, your fare will always correspond to the 'number 1' fare displayed on the screen.

When traveling from Kawaguchiko Station to Oishi Park, make sure to grab a seat on the left side of the bus for the best window views of Mount Fuji!
Conversely, when heading back to the station from the park, you'll want to sit on the right side to catch those iconic Fuji glimpses.

You'll alight at Oishi Park, which is the final stop (Number 20) on the Red Line.
The bus's front display panel will show the stop number, so keep an eye out to make sure you get off at the right place!
2. Returning to Kawaguchiko Station

After you've finished exploring Oishi Park, simply board the bus at the same stop where you got off to head back to Kawaguchiko Station.

This time, a numbered ticket will be issued from the machine. If you're paying with cash, be sure to take one and hold onto it!
3. Exploring Oishi Park

Mount Fuji reveals its majestic beauty only on clear, cloudless days. Luckily, the day I visited offered perfect visibility!

While Oishi Park does attract many tourists, it's quite spacious! If you wander slightly away from the main photo spots, you'll find plenty of quieter areas to enjoy the scenery without feeling crowded.

I visited in autumn, and the park was still bursting with various beautiful flowers, making the garden itself absolutely charming 🌸

Even if Mount Fuji is shy behind the clouds, Oishi Park is beautiful enough on its own to warrant a visit if you're in Kawaguchiko!

If it's this stunning in autumn, I can only imagine how incredibly beautiful it must be in spring when all the flowers are in full bloom!

There's also a souvenir shop within the park that sells ice cream – perfect for a refreshing treat while you explore! :)

With its stunning flowers and incredible Mount Fuji backdrop, Oishi Park is an absolute must-visit on your Kawaguchiko adventure. Don't miss it!!
