Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya: Value Udon & Tempura in 2026

During a trip to Shizuoka, Japan, a tantalizing aroma pulled me into a spot I immediately saved to my must-revisit list: Marugame Seimen! This place truly impressed me with its incredibly delicious udon and tempura, all at fantastic prices. If you're heading to Shizuoka, especially Fujinomiya, you absolutely have to check out Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya – it's a gem!

1. Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya Branch

Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya is super easy to reach, just a 7-minute walk from Fujinomiya Station, making it perfect for those exploring on foot.

While many shops in Fujinomiya tend to close early, this spot is open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, so it's great for a late lunch or dinner.

If you're exploring Shizuoka by rental car, you'll be happy to know there's a convenient parking lot right in front of the restaurant!

The restaurant offers a variety of seating options, from tables for up to six people to four-person and single seats, and even traditional floor seating. Since I was dining solo, I opted for a comfortable partitioned single seat.

2. Menu and How to Order

Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya boasts a wide array of udon dishes, including classic fried tofu udon, refreshing bukkake udon, chilled zaru udon, and savory curry udon.

You can choose your noodle portion in small, medium, or large sizes to suit your appetite.

What's even better? Most of the large udon dishes cost less than ~$7, making it an incredible value spot in Shizuoka!

The magic happens right before your eyes! They cook the noodles fresh as you order, so your food arrives incredibly fast – I got my order in about 5 minutes, no exaggeration!

I went for the medium-sized Fried Tofu Udon, and the noodle portion was generous and satisfying. The highlight was the huge piece of fried tofu – it made the meal truly filling!

As you move along the tray line, you can grab extra tempura or rice balls to go with your udon. You pay for these at the end.

Seriously, Japanese tempura is incredibly delicious, so definitely add some to your order! 👍

At the end of the tray line, you can pick up your udon broth. You can take as much as you like, so if you're a soup lover, load up!

You can also add green onions and crispy tempura bits as toppings.

They even had some sweet bread-like treats for dessert, priced around ~$2 to ~$2.5 for a bag of five.

3. A Must-Visit Shizuoka Restaurant

My entire meal at Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya – a medium Fried Tofu Udon, oden tempura, and egg tempura – only came to about ~$6! Talk about amazing value! 👍

The udon noodles were perfectly chewy, and the fried tofu burst with a delightful sweetness as I chewed. It was miles better than any instant udon cup I've ever had – a truly pleasant surprise!

The egg tempura was like a perfectly fried soft-boiled egg, with a wonderfully runny yolk that just oozed out with each bite.

But if there's one thing you absolutely must try at Marugame Seimen Fujinomiya, it's the oden tempura! It was perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly soft and savory inside. I honestly regretted only getting one! ㅠ

I actually discovered that Marugame Seimen is a major udon franchise across Japan. I only learned about it during my Shizuoka trip, but I'm already planning a trip to an Osaka branch later in 2026 to compare the experience!
