Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter
Getting There, Booking Tickets, and Our Review
If your London itinerary has some flexibility, and you're a devoted Harry Potter fan,
then the London Harry Potter Studio Tour is an absolute must-visit 💫
This guide covers everything you need to know about getting there, booking, and tickets.
While London's city center is fantastic, this experience truly offered unforgettable memories.
1. Location & How to Get There

The Harry Potter Studio Tour is located in Watford, about 20 miles northwest of central London. There are two main ways to get there:
1. Train + Shuttle Bus (Fastest & Most Affordable)
: Take a train from London Euston Station to Watford Junction. From there, catch the dedicated studio shuttle bus. The train journey takes approximately 20 minutes.
2. Direct Shuttle Bus (Most Convenient Option)
: These buses pick up from major central London hubs like Victoria, Baker Street, and King's Cross, taking you directly to the studio entrance. This trip typically takes about 75-90 minutes.

I personally opted for method #1 on my visit. Next time, if I'm staying closer to Victoria or King's Cross, I'd love to try the convenient direct shuttle bus! 🚎
There's so much to see and do, and time flies by quickly, so I highly recommend heading out early in the morning.
2. Admission

With security checks and shuttle waiting times, it's wise to arrive about 20-30 minutes before your scheduled entry time.

Who gets to open the famous doors?

A lucky little one got the honors! This moment truly sets the magical tone for everyone, full of anticipation.

The spaces recreating the Hogwarts dormitories felt just like being in the movies, offering plenty of visual delight.

The grand atmosphere of the sets was impressive, with intricate details that made for fantastic photos.
Entry is by timed ticket, so popular slots, especially during peak season, sell out fast. It's essential to book your preferred time well in advance.

Dumbledore's office was surprisingly compact but incredibly fascinating.

I compared several sites for tickets and found Klook to be a great option for both pricing and ease of booking. They often have discount codes available too.
If your travel dates for 2026 are set, I recommend checking for deals early.

3. Train & Room Sets

The dormitory bedrooms, recreated exactly as they appeared in the films, truly immerse you in the Harry Potter atmosphere.
Seeing the interior of the train to Hogwarts was a real highlight. Watching the movies again before my visit made it feel like I was stepping right into the film!

Familiar props like the Time-Turner and the Golden Snitch – it's truly authentic! 🧙
This is absolutely a must-visit for any devoted Harry Potter fan.

The broomstick experience (with green screen effects) was adorable to watch, and even though it's an extra cost, it creates a lifelong memory.
4. Enjoying Butterbeer

Of course, I had to try the famous Butterbeer! With its sweet, creamy topping, it's a delightful, dessert-like drink perfect even for those who aren't big on alcohol.
Just don't set your expectations *too* high!

The Hogwarts Express was impressive in scale, making for fantastic photo opportunities. Seeing all the different character wands on display was also a treat, each one a unique piece of magic.
If only I had my own wand to wave around! 🪄
