I'm a true regular here, so much so that whenever friends visit Gyeyang-gu, this is the first place I take them.
Beyond the delicious food, it's the owner's thoughtful hospitality and the cozy camping ambiance that always draw me back.

How to Make a Reservation
Making a reservation at Rooftop is super easy through online booking platforms like Naver Reservations.
You can book for parties ranging from 2 up to 50 people, and some menu items require advance notice.
I always make a reservation before visiting. It's convenient for securing your preferred spot, plus you get a 5% discount, which is a nice bonus!
Exterior / Interior
Rooftop is conveniently located on the 6th floor of the Daewoo Plaza building, directly across from the Gyeyang-gu Office.
Just exit the elevator and head inside – you'll easily spot the entrance to Rooftop.
While there are indoor seats, most patrons prefer the outdoor area.
With various seating options, from cozy tents to spacious group tables, you'll truly feel like you've escaped to a real campsite.
I was initially concerned about the summer heat, but the large fans and air conditioners keep the space surprisingly cool and comfortable.
As the sun sets and the string lights illuminate the space, the ambiance becomes absolutely magical, making it a perfect spot for a romantic date or a fun gathering with friends!

Having visited this place countless times, I can honestly say I've never had a single bad dish here.
Everything is cooked to order, ensuring your food always arrives piping hot and consistently delicious.

My Experience
This truly is one of my favorite local spots.
The owner always greets me warmly when I visit.
Each table comes equipped with lighting and tissues, and once you place your order, you'll receive a complimentary Korean popped rice snack (ppeongtwigi).
Perhaps because I called ahead, the Spicy Whelk Salad arrived quickly.
The noodles were generously portioned into four bundles, and best of all, they didn't skimp on the whelks!
Often at other bars, you might find more vegetables than whelks, but here, both are plentiful, which I truly appreciate!
For someone who isn't a huge fan of extremely spicy food, the heat level was pleasantly subtle, and the tangy dressing paired perfectly with a refreshing draft beer.
Mid-meal, it suddenly started raining, making me crave a warm soup, so we ordered the Fish Cake Soup.
It came loaded with fish cake skewers, various types of fish cakes, bok choy, Napa cabbage, radish, and green onions – a truly generous spread of ingredients.
The broth was rich and savory, perfect for enjoying with a glass of soju. With six fish cake skewers, it's enough to share comfortably among three people.
On one of my recent visits, a friend who was pregnant couldn't drink alcohol. The owner went above and beyond, even making her a special sugar-free watermelon juice, which wasn't even on the menu!
Thanks to his kindness, my friend could also fully enjoy the amazing atmosphere.

Gyeyang-gu Office Restaurant: Affordable All-You-Can-Eat Tuna at Yoo Shim Tuna
Gyeyang-gu Rooftop operates from 5 PM to 2 AM on Mondays, and from Wednesdays to Sundays. The last order is at 11 PM. Every Tuesday is a regular closing day.
The first 120 minutes of parking are free. After that, an additional fee of ~$2 will be charged per 60 minutes, up to a maximum of ~$15.
