Keep in mind that the exact blooming and peak season can vary slightly depending on the region and the weather patterns for that particular year.

While many guides point to mid-October, my visit in late October was absolutely stunning. I was a bit worried the flowers might have faded, but to my delight, the pink fields were lush and vibrant, offering plenty of photo opportunities.

My best advice? Before you head out to see Gyeongju's pink muhly, always check for the most recent bloom updates. Weather can change things quickly, so a quick online search will ensure you catch the fields at their best!

Gyeongju Cheomseongdae Pink Muhly Cluster

The spot I explored in Gyeongju is a well-known secret among locals and frequent visitors: the pink muhly cluster right next to Cheomseongdae!

The expansive fields of pink are impossible to miss, visible from a distance and incredibly easy to find.

Under the crisp autumn sky, this vibrant pink landscape is simply breathtaking, making it a wonderful place for a leisurely walk and some peaceful contemplation.

Parking for Gyeongju's Pink Muhly Fields

The closest parking options are the 📍 Jjoksaem Temporary Parking and 📍 Daereungwon Public Parking. Both are paid parking lots.

✔️ Daereungwon Public Parking: Daily maximum ~$18

The Jjoksaem Temporary Parking lot is generally larger, but be warned: parking has become increasingly challenging in recent years. Expect some traffic and potential delays, especially during peak season.

Tips for Photographing the Pink Muhly

When I visited (in late October), it seemed many tourists had already passed through. Unfortunately, it looked like some people had walked directly into the pink muhly fields, causing the delicate grass to be trampled.

So, I want to share a clever trick for taking photos that make it look like you're immersed in the pink muhly, without actually stepping into the flowerbed!

Around the pink muhly clusters, you'll notice low stone walls designed to protect the flowers. Simply squat down behind this low stone wall and lean back slightly.

This technique allows you to capture beautiful photos that look as if you're sitting right among the dense pink muhly, without harming a single plant!

You don't need to enter the flowerbed to get that close-up, immersive shot. Give this tip a try when you're taking your photos!

Other Blooms to See Nearby

Since my visit was in late October, the sunflowers, which typically bloom from August to September, had already faded. While the pink muhly was flourishing beautifully, I missed the chance to see both flowers in full bloom.

If you're hoping to catch multiple types of flowers, it's always a good idea to check the current blooming status before your trip.
