Gyeongju Haengun Pension Review 2026: Family Pool & Summer Fun

What did everyone do during the last long weekend of summer, the Liberation Day holiday?

During this holiday, I went with my in-laws

on our last summer vacation for the year.

Since it was a holiday weekend, finding accommodation wasn't easy from the start.

After carefully comparing several places, even down to their prices,

the place we chose was none other than Gyeongju Haengun Pension!

We wanted a place in Gyeongju where we could enjoy water activities with family

and relax comfortably, and that's how we found this spot.

Since it has a swimming pool, I thought it would be a great option for anyone looking for a Gyeongju pension with a pool.

There's a management office near the entrance where you check in first.

Stepping into the office, I found various condiments, board games, and other

small but essential items for your stay.

We actually needed soy sauce and salt during our stay,

and it was so convenient not having to bring them ourselves.

Board games were also available,

but I only found out about them the next day, unfortunately.

If I had known earlier, we could have played board games

with the family in the evening. Such a missed opportunity!

I also snapped a few pictures of the pension's exterior.

The day we visited, it was pouring rain.

It had been raining continuously since we left,

so I was really worried if we'd even be able to go swimming.

But when we arrived, there were already kids

enjoying the pool despite the rain!

Seeing them, we just couldn't resist joining in.

The room we were assigned was the 2nd-floor unit

on the right in the picture.

Stepping inside, I found the space to be

more spacious than I expected, perfect for a family stay.

I don't have a full shot, so I brought this from their website.

We had already unpacked before I even thought to take pictures ㅠㅠ

Upon entering, you'll find the refrigerator on the left,

and the bathroom across from it.

The room also had a whirlpool bath,

and after playing in the water, it felt absolutely wonderful to soak in the warm tub.

It was especially great after water play with the kids,

when you might feel a bit chilly, to be able to wash up warmly and relax.

The sink made it easy to prepare simple meals,

and the microwave was handy for heating up instant rice.

A table and chairs were provided, perfect for a quick meal or

a snack, and there was also a sofa next to it that could seat 2-3 people.

Next to the sofa was a bed,

which was spacious enough for two people, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep.

A total of five of us visited, and they even provided extra bedding,

so we had more than enough for everyone.

Across from the bed, you'll find a vanity, a TV, and a fan.

Right next to the vanity, there's a staircase leading up to the loft!

Up in the loft, there's a wall-mounted air conditioner,

and comfortable mats were laid out on the floor.

Plus, with a double bed also available,

it was perfect even for larger families to use.

Just a quick note though, since there are stairs leading up to the loft,

for those visiting with infants or toddlers,

it's definitely a good idea to keep a close eye on the little ones when they're using the stairs.

Now, what I really focused on when I was searching for a Gyeongju pension with a pool this time

was, of course, the swimming pool!

And guess what? Right in front of our accommodation, there were two pools!

They're divided into a general pool and a dedicated pool for infants and toddlers,

making it seem especially convenient for families visiting with young children.

The infant/toddler pool was about knee-deep for an adult,

while the general pool was roughly thigh to hip deep.

It was fantastic to have options suitable for different ages and swimming abilities!

I was really worried that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the water because it was raining so much,

but when we arrived, there were actually plenty of people having a blast in the water even on a rainy day!

So, we quickly changed and dashed off to the pool!

Even though the rain initially gave us some pause, once we got in the water, it was way more fun than we expected!

They even played exciting music at the pool, which really boosted the atmosphere.

Spending time splashing around with the kids, we completely lost track of time.

After about an hour of joyful play, with the rain still coming down,

and being in the water for so long, it started to feel a bit chilly.

One by one, the other kids headed back to their rooms, eventually leaving just my husband and me.

But honestly, with fewer people around, I think we had even more fun together, haha!

If you're planning a trip with children, parents, or other family members,

you'll likely be looking for a Gyeongju family pension with a great pool like this,

and I really felt this was a fantastic accommodation for multiple generations to visit together.

In the evening, we added charcoal for a delicious barbecue, grilling up some fantastic meat!

Being able to choose between charcoal or an electric grill meant we could enjoy our BBQ exactly how we liked it.

After a day of splashing around,

you simply can't beat grilling up some delicious meat in the evening at a pension, right? Haha!

After eating and playing to our hearts' content, we were happily exhausted and slept like babies that night!

Although I was initially quite worried about this trip because of all the rain,

we ended up having an unexpectedly full and fun time in the water, creating wonderful memories with our family.

Most importantly, having separate pools where kids could splash around

makes this a great reference for anyone looking for a Gyeongju pension with a pool.

If you're like me and planning a trip with multiple people – your parents, in-laws, and children –

when searching for a Gyeongju family pension,

it's a great idea to check out the room layout, swimming pool, and barbecue facilities all together.

Being able to enjoy water activities right in front of the accommodation,

relax comfortably in your room,

and then head back out to the pool whenever you want, truly won me over!

It was our last summer vacation of the year, and contrary to my worries about the rain,

we ended up laughing and playing to our hearts' content, having a truly enjoyable time with the family.
