Gyeongju Golden Garden Festival 2026: Dates, Experiences & Review
Explore the Gyeongju Golden Garden Festival 2026 (10/03-10/12)! Discover stunning flower displays, drone experiences, live music, and magic shows amidst ancient tombs.
Hey there, fellow travelers!
On the afternoon of 10/03/2026, while exploring the historic Daereungwon Tomb Complex and strolling through Hwanglidan-gil in Gyeongju, I noticed a row of booths set up on the grassy field in front of the ancient tombs. A banner revealed it was the very first day of the Gyeongju Golden Garden Festival!
Here's a quick recap of my solo visit, focusing on what to see and do.
Gyeongju Golden Garden Festival 2026: Event Dates

The on-site banner indicated the festival runs from 10/03 (Saturday) to 10/12 (Monday). My visit was on the very first day!
Always double-check the dates before you go, especially if you're planning for the later days. Before heading out, I recommend checking the exact location on an online map.
While there's parking and an entrance across from Daereungwon Parking Lot, the precise festival grounds are at the "Hwangnam-dong Ancient Tombs."

What I Saw at the Festival

Upon entering the main lawn, I was greeted by a charming flower path lined with vibrant yellow chrysanthemums on both sides. An arched floral structure marked the path's end.

The chrysanthemums were arranged in multiple rows of potted plants, creating a beautiful display of alternating yellow, purple, and red hues as you walked through.

Next to a bed of pink muhly grass, a large sculpture made of orange flowers stood out, easily catching the eye from a distance.

Even though it was a small area, the cluster of pink muhly instantly evoked a strong sense of autumn. This spot truly captured the essence of the fall season.

In one corner of the garden, there was also a pink letter sculpture proclaiming "Pohang, City of Ten Million Roses." This exhibition area beautifully combined chrysanthemums and garden stones against the backdrop of the ancient tombs.

My Walking Route
On this particular day, I started by exploring the Daereungwon Tomb Complex, then strolled through Hwanglidan-gil, before arriving at the festival grounds. It's right at the end of Hwanglidan-gil, so there was hardly any extra travel time. I spent about 20 minutes browsing the booths and flower displays.
Afterward, I headed towards Gyochon Traditional Village and Woljeonggyo Bridge.
Exploring Daereungwon is free, making it a perfect spot to combine with the festival on the same day.
