Gyeongju California Beach Water Park Guide 2026: Booking Tips & Must-Try Rides

After an international trip earlier this year, I was looking for a fun domestic getaway for my summer vacation. Luckily, I won an entry pass through a swimwear community, which brought me to Gyeongju California Beach!

Booking your Gyeongju California Beach admission tickets online is non-negotiable. You'll pay almost double the price if you buy them at the gate. Seriously, paying full price on-site is a huge waste of money!

For two adults, you can save over ~$36! Weekday tickets are a bit cheaper, so if your schedule allows, a weekday visit is highly recommended (plus, the lines are usually shorter!).

California Beach: The Early Bird Gets the Thrills!

The golden rule for California Beach is to arrive right at opening! All the best rides are best enjoyed in the morning.

Around 2:00 PM, the afternoon crowd starts pouring in, and the lines for popular attractions like the Tsunami River Pool and Summer Splash become incredibly long. My advice? Hit all the popular rides first thing in the morning, then spend your afternoon chilling out in the wave pool!

The famous Tsunami River Pool at California Beach was so much fun, I rode it three times in a row!

Since it was still morning, the wait was short, allowing for back-to-back rides, haha!

For lunch, we grabbed a bite at Mom's Touch. It's a shared restaurant between California Beach and Gyeongju World. They even have separate 'wet zones' for California Beach guests and 'dry zones' for Gyeongju World guests, which was a pretty cute setup!

Then came the Summer Splash, where I had a minor disaster! I've conquered my fear of water, but heights are still my nemesis. So, my friend 'Deok-yi' went on the ride, and I happily got drenched by the cascading water below (which was surprisingly fun!).

Speaking of water, my waterproof pouch was a bit of a letdown—the photos had light flares and visible plastic film. For my next vacation, I'm definitely investing in a proper waterproof phone case!

After a relaxing float in the wave pool, we headed back to the Tsunami River Pool. By the afternoon, the wait time had swelled to 40 minutes! Not wanting to wait any longer, we only rode it once before calling it a day.

Seriously, just go for the open run ^^

There's a small pool in front of the Tsunami River Pool, about ~31-39 inches deep. However, don't expect to get any serious swimming done here. It's more like a splash pad for kids waiting for the river pool... 😇😇

Don't go expecting to do any lap swimming!
