What I loved most was the wide, open grassy field.
Watching the sunset slowly paint the sky
somehow makes your busy, wandering thoughts
feel instantly calm and relaxed.

📷 Photo Tips!
· Take portraits against the vast sky from the open grassy field!
· Capture both the Geumgang River and the sunset in one frame.
· Shoot wide so that the sky fills up more than 70% of your photo.
02. Geumgang Iron Bridge (Geumgang Bridge)
Gongju's night view carrying 100 years of history
Geumgang Iron Bridge was built in 1933.
It’s a landmark with nearly a century of history!
At the time, it was known as the longest bridge south of the Han River.

In an era when most iron bridges were built exclusively for trains,
the fact that this was built for both cars and pedestrians
makes it a highly unique structure.
The bridge also carries the scars of Korea's modern history.
During the Korean War, to block the North Korean army's advance,
the US military blew up the bridge.
It was later restored to the beautiful structure we see today.

📷 Photo Tips!
· Use the bridge's repetitive steel arches to create a cool sense of perspective!
· Shoot during the blue hour,
just before the sky turns completely dark, for the best colors!

If you're visiting on a weekend,
don't miss the Jemincheon Daetong Challenge!
It's a hands-on experience where you float a lotus-shaped lantern
carrying your wishes down Jemincheon Stream.
It's a modern reinterpretation of 'Daetongsa Temple',
a historical temple dating back 1,500 years to the Baekje Kingdom.

The Daetong Challenge is a hands-on event where participants float lotus-shaped lanterns carrying their wishes on Jemincheon. It is a modern reinterpretation of the meaning of Daetongsa, a temple from the Baekje period 1,500 years ago, and can be enjoyed on weekends.
At the time of its construction, the Geumgang Iron Bridge was the longest bridge south of the Han River, designed for both cars and pedestrians. During the Korean War, it was blown up by the US military to prevent the southward advance of North Korean forces, and it holds the history of being restored later.
We recommend visiting the Jungdong Catholic Church, which faces the Chungnam Historical Museum. When the sun sets and the red brick building is illuminated, you can feel an atmosphere reminiscent of a small, old European village.
From the Jeongjisan Historic Site, you can take in a panoramic view of the Geumgang River and Gongsanseong Fortress, which represent Gongju. It is a great place to take photos, capturing the slowly coloring sunset and the Geumgang River in a single frame from the spacious lawn.
