Gongju & Buyeo Solo Travel: Easy C-Tour Bus Guide 2026
Discover the easiest way to explore Gongju and Buyeo's rich history and beautiful sights. This guide covers using the convenient C-Tour Bus for a hassle-free solo trip!
This past May 2026, I embarked on another solo adventure to Gongju and Buyeo. After a previous overnight trip left me wanting to explore more, I decided to return independently. Navigating between attractions by taxi can quickly add up, so I opted for the convenient C-Tour Bus service. This innovative system allows you to call a vehicle to key tourist spots, and you only pay with your transportation card!

My day started bright and early, taking an express bus from the terminal to the Gongju Intercity Bus Terminal. Right outside the terminal, there's a C-Tour Bus stop. I simply used the app to call a bus and headed straight to the National Gongju Museum, a place I missed on my last visit.

The best part? You can use your regular post-paid transit card, just like you would on a city bus. Simply tap and go! The fares are incredibly affordable too: Adults ~$1, Youth ~$1, and Children ~$0, making it a budget-friendly option for exploring.

National Gongju Museum/Gongju Hanok Village - Gongju Wangdosim (Pulkkot Literature Museum, Jeminchen Stream) - Gongju KTX Station
Since I had already visited Gongsanseong Fortress on my previous trip, I used the C-Tour Bus to go directly to the National Gongju Museum and Gongju Hanok Village, which were new to me.

It seems I'm truly appreciating history more as I get older, because I absolutely loved the museum! Seeing the dazzling and intricate gold crown ornaments, just like something out of a historical drama, was even more beautiful in person. I also learned about the "Jinmyosu," a mythical animal guardian of tombs.

Right next to the Gongju Museum is the charming Gongju Hanok Village. I heard they had a free foot spa, and as someone who loves a good relaxation spot, I couldn't resist! They even provide a fresh towel, which is a nice hygienic touch. Even though it's still a bit warm, after all that walking, your tired legs will definitely thank you for this refreshing break.

On my previous trip, I combined Buyeo and Gongju, and it's a popular choice since both are part of the ancient Baekje cultural sphere and offer distinct attractions. That's why it's fantastic that the C-Tour Bus is also available in Buyeo!

<How to Use the C-Tour Bus App>
1. Install the dedicated app - 2. Select 'C-Tour Bus' - 3. Enter your departure and destination -
4. Choose the number of passengers - 5. Confirm your assigned vehicle and route
Registering a credit card for payment isn't mandatory, as you can simply use your transportation card. It's as intuitive and easy to use as popular ride-hailing apps!

This time, from the Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal, I took the C-Tour Bus directly to Gungnamji Pond, a place I had really wanted to see.
📍 Gungnamji Pond
Dongnam-ri, Buyeo-eup, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do

Gungnamji Pond is an ancient pond with records dating back to the reign of King Mu of Baekje. It's especially famous for its abundance of lotus flowers, making it a truly wonderful place for a stroll amidst the diverse lotus varieties. When I visited, many of the pink lotus blossoms had already faded, so it's definitely a spot I'd love to revisit when they're in full bloom.

Throughout the area, there were promotions for the Baekje Cultural Festival, running from October 03-11, 2026. It looks like there will be many exciting events, and I'm already thinking about going again! Even if you're traveling solo without a car, remember that the C-Tour Bus makes it easy and comfortable to reach all the major attractions. Happy travels!
