Mrs. P Berry Cafe (미세스피베리) in Gongju's (공주) Sin'gwan-dong (신관동) is truly memorable for its charming vintage interior and their incredible fresh plum ade.
What's more, there's a convenient parking lot directly across from the cafe, making it super easy to visit by car. I stopped by on a Saturday, and while it was quite bustling with customers, the lovely atmosphere and delicious fruit beverages made it a wonderful experience.
The fresh plum ade, made with homemade plum preserves, was absolutely perfect for my taste!

Since moving to Sejong (세종), I've been visiting Gongju (공주) quite frequently. It's close by, and I adore the unique ambiance of Gongju's old downtown (원도심). I often find myself spending time near Gongsanseong Fortress (공산성) or Jemincheon Stream (제민천).
However, I recently heard something quite interesting: apparently, locals in Gongju don't cross the bridges much these days!
While I always associate Gongju with its old downtown, it turns out the residents primarily hang out in Sin'gwan-dong (신관동)!
This tidbit instantly sparked my curiosity about Sin'gwan-dong. Come to think of it, I always pass through Sin'gwan-dong when driving from Sejong to Gongju, but I'd rarely explored the cafes there.
So, this time, I decided to venture beyond my usual haunts in the old downtown and seek out a cafe in Gongju's Sin'gwan-dong. That's how I discovered Mrs. P Berry (미세스피베리).

I drove from Sejong (세종), and it was incredibly convenient to have the SB Parking Lot (SB주차장) located directly across from the cafe. You know how it is when you're trying to find parking for a new cafe – you often end up circling the block a few times. But here, having the parking right upfront was a huge plus.
When you visit Mrs. P Berry (미세스피베리), you can enjoy up to 3 hours of free parking! (Just register your vehicle at the cafe entrance.)

My visit to Mrs. P Berry (미세스피베리) was on a Saturday, which likely explains why it was quite busy with patrons.
The interior boasted a delightful vintage atmosphere, adorned with charming little trinkets and decorations.

It offered a distinct charm compared to the minimalist cafes so common these days. As someone who appreciates this kind of vintage aesthetic, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the space.
However, due to the crowd, it wasn't a quiet environment. If you're looking for a more tranquil cafe experience, I'd recommend visiting on a weekday rather than a weekend.

On this visit, I ordered an Iced Americano and the Fresh Plum Ade. While the coffee was perfectly fine, the Fresh Plum Ade was absolutely outstanding!
The unique tartness and sweetness of the plum were perfectly balanced, and it came with a generous amount of plum pulp, making it incredibly refreshing and hard to put down. The harmony of sweet and sour was exactly to my liking.

The drink portion was also quite generous, so I never felt like it was running out. In fact, I kept thinking, "Wow, there's still more?!"
After my visit, I checked out Mrs. P Berry's (미세스피베리) Instagram and discovered that they make the fruit preserves for their ades themselves, right in the store!
That immediately explained why it tasted so incredibly good. Looking through their Instagram, their baked goods and bingsu (shaved ice) also look amazing. I definitely want to try the bingsu on my next visit!

Despite frequently visiting Gongju (공주) from Sejong (세종), I hadn't truly had the chance to explore the cafes in Sin'gwan-dong (신관동). My visit to Mrs. P Berry this time was a pleasant surprise; its vintage interior is beautiful, and the parking lot directly opposite made it incredibly convenient.
If you're like me and often visit Gongju, I highly recommend checking out the cafes in Sin'gwan-dong, not just the old downtown! I'm planning to make an effort to explore more cafes in Sin'gwan-dong whenever I'm in Gongju.
