When May and June roll around, there's one flower that truly steals the show, isn't there?

That's right, it's the rose 🌹! And when it comes to rose festivals in South Korea, Seoul's Jungnang Rose Park is quite famous.

However, for those of us not in Seoul, getting there can be a bit of a trek – about an hour by car or around two hours via public transport. That made a trip to the Jungnang Rose Festival a bit challenging.

So, I started looking for a beautiful rose spot closer to home in Gimpo. That's when I rediscovered the Rose Garden located within the Gurae-dong and Masan-dong Lake Park, which has been a local favorite for years.

As soon as I heard the roses were in full bloom, I rushed over to check it out!

At first glance, it looks like a simply beautiful lake park, but as I got closer to the Rose Garden section, I was truly amazed.

The roses here are incredibly lush and stunning, and the paths are beautifully maintained, allowing you to stroll right among the blooms. It's truly a wonderful spot for a leisurely walk or a fun family outing.

True to its name, this isn't just a sea of red roses. You'll find a surprising variety of colors and types, creating a truly captivating display. The sheer abundance of roses means that as soon as you step into the garden, you're greeted by a delightful, intoxicating rose fragrance – it's absolutely wonderful!

There are also plenty of charming photo zones where you can capture beautiful memories with these stunning roses. It's the perfect backdrop for your next Instagram post!

Gimpo's parks are known for their excellent facilities, and Lake Park Rose Garden is no exception. You'll find well-maintained restrooms and, of course, the beautiful lake itself. If you visit in the evening, the sparkling light installations create a magical night view that's truly captivating.

For all these reasons, I highly recommend Gimpo Lake Park Rose Garden as a must-visit destination in Gimpo.
