So Much to See Before the Opening Ceremony!

When I arrived at the 2026 Laveniche Festival, my first thought was to stroll along the canal, just like last time, to catch some performances and check out the experience booths. The opening ceremony wasn't until the evening, so I had plenty of time.

The waterfront stage kept the entertainment flowing with parades, magic shows, and busking performances throughout the day, making the time fly by until the main event. The magic show, in particular, was a huge hit with the kids, and I thoroughly enjoyed it too!

Between performances, I explored the various experience booths. There were engaging activities for kids, like a shrimp-catching experience, and even fun games for adults, like a prize draw.

Walking along the waterfront, I even discovered a pet-friendly restaurant. I immediately thought about bringing my dog, Lotto, to Laveniche next time!

What's a festival without some delicious food, right? Last year, I went unprepared and regretted it, so this time, I made sure to grab some proper snacks before the performances began. I decided to get some fried chicken from Saenghwal Maekju (생활맥주), a place I'd enjoyed during a work dinner and often thought about!

And what goes perfectly with chicken? Beer, of course! I wanted to minimize carrying heavy beer bottles from the Laveniche waterfront to the main stage area at Hangang Central Park (한강 공원), so I hoped to buy it closer to the main event.

I remembered a small shop near the main zone from last year and thought I could pick up beer there. But when I went to buy some after setting down my chicken... there was no beer! 🥹

So, I had to walk all the way to a GS25 convenience store (GS25 편의점) for beer.

If you plan to have beer, you'll need to purchase it elsewhere beforehand. 😂

Main Performances

As the sun set and the opening ceremony began, the atmosphere completely transformed. The pre-show performances were fantastic!

But here's the sad part... I finished all my food while waiting for the main performances to properly start in the main zone! So, I ended up making another trip to GS25 (GS25 편의점) for chicken skewers, more snacks, and beer. 😂

If you love snacks as much as I do, make sure to bring plenty!

Finally, the main performances! I don't usually follow celebrities closely, so while I'd heard John Park's name, I wasn't familiar with his songs. But his voice was absolutely incredible, and I truly enjoyed his set!

As for Bada, I knew her from her S.E.S (에스이에스) days, and she really knows how to energize a crowd! Everyone stood up and danced when she sang her hit song "Run" (달리기) – it was amazing! ㅎㅎㅎ

Fireworks Display

And then came the fireworks – almost as anticipated as Bada's performance! Watching the night sky light up with synchronized explosions set to music, I knew coming this year was absolutely the right choice!

A few planes even flew by during the display... I bet it looked incredible from up there! I was honestly a little jealous of anyone on those flights. 🤣

Anyway, this year's fireworks were dazzling and beautiful, and I was completely satisfied.

From the performances and activities to the invited artists and fireworks, everything was simply perfect. I'm already planning to go again next year!
