Are searching for a quiet cafe
✔︎Are looking for a cafe in Gimpo where you can take stunning 'life-shot' photos reminiscent of
Uyuni Salt Flats or Bali's Lempuyang Temple

The Gimpo cafe I'm introducing today is
none other than Cafe The View, a real gem for its scenic views, perfect for a day out at Daemyeonghang Port, Deokpojin Fortress (덕포진), or
a stop on your way to Ganghwado Island!
"Cafe The View" is the place-!

It boasts a spacious parking lot, so no worries about finding a spot.

With outdoor tables available, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee al fresco on a pleasant day like these.
It would be great to have a cup of coffee outside.
Inside Cafe The View

Honestly, when I first heard about Cafe The View,
I knew it as a hidden gem in Gimpo, famous for its 'life-shot' photo zones inspired by the Uyuni Salt Flats and Bali's Lempuyang Temple.
So I thought it was only serious about its photo zones,
but the interior is beautifully decorated too!
They offer a variety of seating, from tables for two to larger group tables,
and I loved that there were comfy sofas where you could just sit back and relax.

Even near the photo zones, there are tables just like in the picture,
creating perfect spots to sip your coffee while gazing outside.
It was fun to choose just the right spot!
Cafe The View Photo Zones
Become an angel fallen from the sky at the
Wing Photo Zone

This photo zone is actually best captured from the front,
but thanks to the rainwater, I ended up looking like a friend of Fu Bao... so here's just a back shot! 💙
Bali Lempuyang Temple Motif Photo Zone

This was the photo zone I was most excited about, as it looks absolutely stunning on a sunny day.
It was my most anticipated photo zone.
Uyuni Salt Flats

This was another spot I had really looked forward to,
but the pouring rain meant I couldn't capture it...
If you step onto the platform and take a photo,
you'll instantly feel like you're at the Uyuni Salt Flats—!!
It’s truly the perfect spot to capture that iconic shot.

Another fantastic feature of the photo zone at Cafe The View (카페더뷰) is this:
Honestly, even with well-designed photo zones,
I'm usually terrible at taking pictures... so I often mess up beautiful shots, you know?
But at Cafe The View, they actually mark where you should stand
to capture that perfect, once-in-a-lifetime shot. 💙
That's why I think this detail was so special and wonderful!
Indoor Flower Photo Zone

While it's fantastic to take amazing photos in the wide-open outdoor space,
if it's a rainy day, like when I visited,
there are also indoor photo zones, so I could still get beautiful pictures.

Since this cafe is famous for its photo zones, you might worry that a rainy day would be a bit disappointing,
but when I actually visited, I found lovely indoor photo zones, and the interior itself was beautiful.
Above all, on a rainy day, sipping a cup of coffee while gazing at the sea in its own unique, rainy charm
created such a wonderfully emotional atmosphere, which I really enjoyed.
Cafe The View Menu

As you can see from the menu,
they have a wide variety of drinks, from coffee to ade, smoothies, and teas,
so even if you're not a coffee drinker, you'll find something you like without feeling pressured.
They also sell handmade Hwawagaja (화과자, traditional Korean confectionery),

and various other bakery items.
Among these, what really caught my eye was that
they also sell handmade Hodugwaja (호두과자, walnut cakes) here!
As my regular readers know, I absolutely adore Hodugwaja, don't I?
So, without a moment's hesitation, for today's dessert,
I chose handmade Hodugwaja!
For drinks, we ordered Cafe The View's signature Almond Peanut Latte,
Lemon Peach Ade, and Corn Latte!

The drinks and Hodugwaja came out quickly after we ordered them!
Almond Peanut Latte
₩8,500 (~$6)

Just as the name suggests with 'Almond' and 'Peanut',
the moment I took a sip, a rich nuttiness spread through my mouth.
The nutty flavor was even more prominent than I expected,
so I offered a sip to my mom, who loves peanuts,
and my coffee mysteriously disappeared...!
Since my mom hasn't been drinking much coffee after she was sick,
I had actually ordered an ade for her...
But the Almond Peanut Latte completely captivated her heart,
so I, who had been craving coffee, ended up drinking the ade instead (?)
Lemon Peach Ade
₩8,000 (~$6)

This was the drink I ordered for my mom,
but I suddenly ended up drinking it myself, you know?
Honestly, I really wanted coffee, so when I ended up with the ade,
I was a little disappointed. But the moment I took a sip,
all my disappointment vanished.
The reason I don't usually drink ade much is that sometimes they just taste like bland carbonated water,
but at Cafe The View, I didn't have to worry about that at all.
It was refreshingly sweet and absolutely fantastic!
So, I made sure to drink this one all by myself so Mom couldn't steal it!
There's definitely a reason why it's a signature menu item. ❤️
Corn Latte
₩7,000 (~$5)

This was the drink I ordered for my dad, secretly planning to steal sips because I'm such a corn lover myself!
Since the other signature drinks I'd already tasted were so delicious,
my expectations for the Corn Latte unintentionally grew very high,
but it certainly didn't disappoint me.
The sweetness of the corn was perfectly balanced, making it really tasty.
Handmade Hodugwaja
6 pieces ₩4,000 (~$3)

I knew the Hodugwaja was handmade because I saw it when ordering,
but my mom had no idea.
The moment she took a bite, she exclaimed, 'Wow, this must be handmade!'
and she enjoyed it so much.
The Hodugwaja I often buy at highway rest stops usually has a soft exterior,
but Cafe The View's Hodugwaja had a crispy exterior
The inside was packed with red bean paste, and surprisingly, there were quite a few walnuts too!
When I took a picture of the hodugwaja (호두과자) cut in half, I was a little disappointed not to see the walnuts,
but as I ate it, I kept finding walnuts!
It wasn't overly sweet, just perfectly balanced,
making it perfect to enjoy with coffee!
On my next visit, I'll definitely have to order the hodugwaja again!
