Ganong Forest Gimpo Review 2026: Chick Farm Fun for Families

To make the most of the holidays, I used the Gyeonggi Tour Pass,

and explored several spots in the Gimpo area on a day trip.

Among the places I visited, the first one was

Ganong Forest.

It's a rural experience where you can directly interact with chicks,

so the kids were super excited right from the first stop of their vacation!

Ganong Forest is nestled along rural roads in Daegot-myeon,

so it's a spot where you should definitely set your navigation and give yourself ample time

for the journey.

Here's a super important tip:

With the Gyeonggi Tour Pass, some attractions require advance reservations,

while others allow for immediate entry.

For Ganong Forest, you'll need to text the owner's number at least one day in advance

to secure your reservation.

Since spontaneous visits on the day might be difficult,

please be sure to book in advance before you go!

Times: 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30,

13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30

The program runs in these 8 time slots.

Just park, stroll across the spacious lawn, and head into the main building – easy!

We booked the very first slot in the morning,

and upon arrival, they kindly prepared some simple toast for us.

Eating toast with the kids,

we were able to start our experience at a relaxed pace.

(Note: Toast is only offered for the 9:30 AM first slot!)

Ganong Forest: Chick Video & Towel Chicken Craft

Once you step inside, make sure to get your Gyeonggi Tour Pass barcode

scanned right away!

(Since there needs to be a 1-hour interval between each experience,

it's best to tag it right upon entry!)

While enjoying our toast, we watched a video showcasing how an egg transforms into a chick

and then eventually grows into a full-grown chicken.

Since the video showcased the entire growth process,

even the kids watched it with focused attention.

After finishing the video,

we then had a simple activity: rolling towels to create adorable chicken shapes!

It was a fun, hands-on moment we shared.

Ganong Forest: Fertilized Egg Experience & Blue Egg Harvest!

We even got to take home some blue fertilized eggs!

Each person could take two eggs,

and since there were four of us, we happily brought home a generous eight eggs.

What was truly fascinating was that these fertilized eggs had a beautiful, bluish hue –

they were "blue eggs," a color I'd never seen before, making them even more special!

We boiled them and enjoyed them at home,

and the egg whites were so clear and fresh, they tasted absolutely delicious.

Ganong Forest even offers incubator rentals!

If you tell them you plan to hatch the eggs,

they'll provide you with freshly laid fertilized eggs for the best hatching success.

(My husband and I decided not to tell the kids about that...)

Now, let's head to the chick nursery!

On the way to the chick nursery, we picked some grass

and even tried feeding it to the rabbits, too, hehe!

Chicks just born inside the incubator!

Oh my goodness, they're so incredibly cute!!

These fluffy chicks have such soft feathers!

The chicks that are ready to hatch on this side of the incubator

seem to be kept separately.

Since chicks are delicate,

make sure to tell the kids to touch them gently!

There were also slightly older chicks,

and in the spacious enclosure next door, there were even full-grown chickens!

The kids were so amazed by this chicken farm, which they had never seen before.

Because the kids wanted to see them a bit longer,

the owner even switched them out for some slightly bigger chicks, haha!

He told us to look around freely and let the kids put them back when they were done,

then coolly walked away.

Thanks to that, the kids had hearts in their eyes as they played with the chicks

for a long time.

Ganong Forest Farm-nic & Camp-nic Programs

Besides the Gyeonggi Tour Pass experience,

the farm also had its own separate programs.

A Farm-nic where you enjoy time with chicks,

and even a Camp-nic where you have a blast playing with chicks!

Both programs reportedly offer more time and a wider variety of activities

compared to the Gyeonggi Tour Pass experience.

For those who want to spend more relaxed time with the chicks,

booking a Farm-nic or Camp-nic program

would be a great choice!

Overall Review

Ganong Forest was a fantastic place to visit with the kids during vacation

for a unique rural experience.

Being able to interact closely with chicks and chickens,

and even take home blue eggs,

I think it will remain a special memory for the children.

Just remember that text message reservations are mandatory,

and you'll have a smooth and enjoyable visit.
