Byeokkot Nongbu is a farm located in Haseong-myeon, Gimpo.
I was expecting a small experience space,
but I was quite surprised to see such a large building!
Beyond the Gyeonggi Tour Pass or Gimpo Tour Pass experiences,
you can also use it like a cafe,
and there's a wide variety of always-available programs!
There were four programs available for the Gyeonggi Tour Pass experience.
Honey Tteok making, Oranda Gangjeong making,
and Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong making were available as basic choices.
For the Half-Moon Cake making, you could experience it by adding ~$3 per person.
It was great that each family member could choose a different experience
according to their preferences.
I was so curious about the Millstone Coffee making experience that
I thought I'd like to come back separately another time to try it.
Byeokkot Nongbu Honey Tteok Making Experience Review
My family divided up the experiences:
two for Honey Tteok, one for Oranda, and one for Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong.
They provided an instruction guide for the making experience,
so it seemed easy to follow the steps.
For the Honey Tteok, they prepared the dough with rice
directly grown at Byeokkot Nongbu.
The colors came out so vibrant and pretty,
it was a delight to the eyes throughout the making process!
Because the colors were so pretty,
the kids put even more effort into making them beautifully.
While the kids were busy making their creations, I got to enjoy a refreshing iced Americano :)
Byeokkot Nongbu: My Review of the Olanda Gangjeong & Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong Experience
Making the Olanda Gangjeong and Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong
was actually a bit simpler than making the Kkultteok.
Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong / Olanda
For the Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong and Olanda,
it was super easy! You just put all the provided ingredients together, mix well, and you're done!
Then, we were told to press them together firmly and place them into cups,
but I was a little flustered because they weren't sticking together as easily as I expected.
I somehow managed to get them into the parchment cups,
and to my surprise, they ended up sticking together and holding their shape later on!
So, don't worry about making them look too perfect –
the final results are pretty great anyway! LOL
The process wasn't difficult at all,
so it was perfect for the kids to do themselves without feeling overwhelmed.
And once they finished, everyone eagerly reached out,
wanting to try their own delicious creations first!
All three experiences were quite easy,
making them perfect for even young children to enjoy without any difficulty.
Plus, the Kkultteok was absolutely delicious as a mid-activity snack!
Byeokkot Nongbu Outdoor Photo Zone & Visitor Tips
Outside on the farm, old farming tools were
on display, creating a great photo zone, perfect for some memorable snapshots.
However, the day we visited was incredibly hot,
so we decided to skip the photo zone this time.
If you plan to visit in the upcoming autumn,
the weather will be much cooler, making it a perfect opportunity to capture some lovely photos with the kids!
Final Thoughts
Byeokkot Nongbu truly offered a fulfilling experience!
Using rice they grew themselves, we got to create traditional snacks
like Kkultteok, Olanda Gangjeong, and Tangerine Chip Rice Gangjeong directly with the kids.
It was such a rich and meaningful time!
Since each experience had different difficulty levels and time requirements,
it was a fantastic idea for family members to divide and conquer, trying out various activities.
If you're planning an exciting Gimpo experience course with the Gyeonggi Tour Pass,
I highly recommend including Byeokkot Nongbu as a perfect mid-day snack break!
