If you live in Gimpo, you've probably heard of ZATURA, the grand cafe.
Gimpo actually boasts quite a few grand cafes, but I'd say the top of the top is likely ZATURA, which I'm sharing with you today!
Why? Because everyone I know has already been there... except me!
Why hadn't I visited, you ask?
Even for a grand cafe, when I heard an Iced Americano was ~$6...
I thought, a cafe's a cafe, right?
An Americano for ~$6? I wasn't sure it was worth it.
But then... a friend I met after a long time... and even a close older friend from another city had all been there!
So, I finally decided it was time to check it out myself.
Just a heads-up, ZATURA requires one drink per person. So, before you enter, you'll need to purchase your drinks at the kiosk, then show your receipt to a staff member to get in.
You enter with a bit of space between your group and the one ahead, and after passing through this incredible secret passage,
you're greeted by an exotic, arched space where the interplay of light and shadow creates an absolutely stunning photo zone perfect for snapping those 'shot of a lifetime' pictures!
To help you capture those perfect shots, the staff actually gives you a small gap before you fully enter the cafe, so you have a bit of leisurely time to take pictures!
The moment you pass through that secret door into the cafe is genuinely breathtaking, and I really wanted to capture it perfectly. But, thanks to my sister's urgent bathroom situation, we had to rush through...
Even though I couldn't get the ideal photos, just seeing this space made me completely understand why that Americano was ~$6.
Once you're fully inside the cafe, you can look back and see how that secret door space we passed through is designed.
After you pass through that secret door, you step into an incredibly spacious cafe interior, can you believe it?!
It has a complete resort vibe, doesn't it?!
What's more, none of the seating areas are ordinary... The central ceiling is made of glass, allowing beautiful sunlight to stream in, creating an incredibly atmospheric feel on rainy days, and in the evening, you get to see the stunning night sky, making it feel so romantic.
The only catch is... finding an empty seat can be a bit of a challenge, haha.
What Makes Gimpo's Grand Cafe ZATURA Unique
Private Rooms
One of the cool things about Gimpo's grand cafe ZATURA is that you can reserve private rooms to enjoy exclusively with your group! How perfect for larger gatherings or just chilling with your friends, right?
Even private rooms with swimming pools were available here!!
It was my first time seeing a cafe like this, so I was really amazed.
The Entertainment Zone
Amazingly, after passing through the main zone that feels like a resort,
and then another giant door, right?
You arrive at a place called the Entertainment Zone.
It's perfect for kids to play!
Bowling, darts – it's ideal for people of all ages to enjoy.
While the Entertainment Zone is a paid area that requires payment,
at first, I wondered if it was worth the fee.
But it actually seems like a great way to pass the time,
so if you're visiting with children, paying the fee and
trying out the Entertainment Zone seems like a good idea.
Where to Buy Desserts?
As I mentioned, Zatura requires one drink per person,
so you order drinks at the kiosk before entering, right?
Well, that kiosk before entry is only for drink orders; desserts
can be ordered once you're inside the cafe.
You could also order bakery items and brunch menus at the kiosk inside.
For reference, we ordered two Americanos, a Zatura Latte, a Mugwort Mochi Latte,
a Purple Vino Vin Chaud Ade, a Suntory Highball, and White Scampi.
Iced Americano
Luckily, the Iced Americano wasn't sour, so it was quite palatable.
Although the price of ~$6 initially surprised me,
as I explored the Zatura cafe,
it felt more like I had entered a magnificent art space and was receiving the Americano as a complimentary service.
So, I didn't really feel like it was expensive.
Therefore, the ~$6 price tag for the Americano? I didn't mind it at all.
Zatura Latte
A Zatura Latte sold at Zatura Cafe –
as their signature drink, I absolutely had to try it, right?
So I ordered it, and surprisingly, they gave me salt with it?
Zatura Latte ~$8
I thought you were supposed to pour it all in at once,
but they said you're meant to add it little by little as you drink, according to your preference.
I didn't know and just poured it all in,
but it was deliciously salty and sweet!
Mugwort Mochi Latte

I love mugwort drinks,
and with mugwort tteok (rice cake) in the drink and even more on top,
how could I possibly pass it up?
So I ordered it, and the mugwort tteok was so delicious, it was a definite win!
Purple Vino Vin Chaud Ade

Among the drinks, there was a freshly squeezed kale and Korean celery juice, so
I asked my youngest sibling to buy me the kale juice.
But they forgot and brought the Vin Chaud instead...
So I was about to unleash a stern reprimand on my youngest sibling, but...
Once I tasted it, it was surprisingly delicious?!
Suntory Highball
Suntory Highball ~$6
Since I'm not a big fan of alcohol,
I usually don't like highballs that have a strong alcoholic taste.
But Zatura's Suntory Highball was wonderfully sweet and delicious!
So I highly recommend this one too!!
White Scampi
White Scampi ~$20
If you visit Zatura, you absolutely MUST try this...
At ~$20, you might think it's a bit pricey,
but the shrimp were plump, and there was plenty of it.
The corn was genuinely incredibly delicious too.
It's absolutely worth every penny!!
I'd definitely buy this again the next time I go to Zatura.
Therefore, I absolutely highly recommend it!!!
Jatura's restrooms are great too..
Jatura's restrooms are pretty, aren't they?!
Among all the restrooms I've seen while traveling recently, these were the cleanest,
and they even had Dyson hand dryers ❤️
You might have to wait in line to use the restrooms because there are a lot of people,
but they were **very satisfying restrooms**.
Parking
Since it's such a popular place with so many visitors, I was a bit worried about parking,
but thankfully, there are quite a lot of parking spaces, and if you drive around a few times, a spot usually opens up,
so I don't think you need to worry too much.

About Jatura, the large cafe in Gimpo, I heard something like this:
"I thought the Iced Americano was too expensive at ~$6,
but once you visit, the price makes sense, and it's a place you'd want to take friends when they visit."
I heard that, and I thought, 'How good can a large cafe really be?'
but after going, I truly understood.
The drink prices are a bit high, but it is a large cafe,
and once you're there, it feels more like you paid an entrance fee for a wonderful space and they just happen to give you a drink,
so the high drink prices don't really bother me.
What's certain is that if friends visit from out of town,
or relatives come to visit, I'm definitely taking them here. ❤️
It was a very satisfying cafe where the drink prices felt totally worth it.
