I've been on quite the culinary adventure lately, trying out all sorts of dishes.

Among all my recent foodie escapades, this spot truly stood out as one of my absolute favorites!

Part of it is definitely my love for ganjang gejang, but honestly, this place is special.

If you live in Gimpo's Gurae-dong or Yanggok, and you're a fan of marinated crab, you absolutely MUST check this place out!

Just a heads-up: it can be a little tricky to find, as it's tucked away behind Yanggok Elementary School.

Inside, you'll find comfortable four-person tables, as well as dedicated spots for solo diners, making it a welcoming place whether you're with company or enjoying a meal by yourself.

Baegane Tojong Jangkalguksu Menu Highlights

I had heard that Baegane Tojong Jangkalguksu was famous for its delicious kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), but I was particularly intrigued by its reputation as a fantastic ganjang gejang spot.

Its ganjang gejang reviews on local food delivery apps were especially glowing.🧡

In fact, on one popular delivery app, it's even listed under the name "The House That Does Ganjang Gejang Really Well"!

(That name alone, combined with the great reviews, made me curious enough to look up its location, which is why I remember it so well, haha!)

Anyway, I was craving ganjang gejang, so I checked the menu and decided on the "Crab Feast for Two" (꽃게한상), which seemed like incredible value at ~$40. It includes both ganjang gejang, spicy marinated crab (yangnyeom gejang), and a hearty crab stew (kkotge-tang)!

As a two-person set, it also comes with two bowls of steamed rice.🧡

While I'm raving about the crab feast, it's worth noting that Baegane also offers a variety of other dishes perfect for a simple, satisfying meal, even if you're dining solo. So, you don't *have* to get the ganjang gejang to enjoy this place.!!

However, I must say, the Crab Feast left such a strong impression that I enthusiastically recommend it!🧡

When you order the Crab Feast, they bring out all the necessary utensils, as you can see in the photo.

Then, the side dishes are set. And let me tell you, even the banchan (side dishes) were incredibly delicious from the get-go?!

The freshly made kimchi (baechu-geotjeori) was particularly outstanding🧡 – both my parents and I were instantly hooked.

As soon as I tasted the side dishes, I knew this place was something special, haha!

Ganjang Gejang (Marinated Crab)

The star of our Crab Feast, the ganjang gejang, arrived beautifully presented in a traditional pot.

Those roe-filled crab shells!🧡

Not only was it packed with roe, but the crab meat itself was incredibly plump and firm – absolutely perfect!

I enjoyed it over rice,

and also mixed it directly into the crab shell with rice.

The ganjang gejang wasn't fishy at all, and the soy sauce marinade wasn't overly salty – it was genuinely delicious?!

It was clear why this place is known as a ganjang gejang hotspot.

Honestly, even though I didn't try their kalguksu, I seriously wondered if they should rename the place to "Baegane Ganjang Gejang" because it was *that* good, haha!

Yangnyeom Gejang (Spicy Marinated Crab)

When you order ganjang gejang, it's pretty common to get yangnyeom gejang (spicy marinated crab) alongside it, right?

But often, the yangnyeom gejang feels like a sidekick – smaller, with less meat, sometimes you're just sucking on the sauce.

Not here! This one was also packed with succulent meat.

The seasoning wasn't overly spicy either; it was just right. It made me think that next time, I'll definitely be ordering the Crab Feast again for both the ganjang gejang and yangnyeom gejang.

Kkotge-tang (Spicy Crab Stew)

I mentioned the Crab Feast was ~$40, right?

For that price, you get ganjang gejang, yangnyeom gejang, AND a kkotge-tang that was unbelievably generous in portion size.

It's advertised as a set for two, but honestly, with all this food, it could easily satisfy three or more people!

And it wasn't just big; it had a large whole crab in it! I honestly expected the crab in the stew to have little meat,

but its flesh was incredibly plump and full?

I was genuinely surprised and so excited to eat that I completely forgot to snap a picture....

It honestly felt like ordering a standalone kkotge-tang dish.🧡

Even compared to kkotge-tang I've had as a single order elsewhere, this one had more meat.🧡

And to top it all off, you can even add ramen noodles to the kkotge-tang, which made the meal truly filling.

Yetkal Gamja Sujebi (Old-Style Potato Hand-Pulled Dough Soup)

This "Old-Style Potato Hand-Pulled Dough Soup" (Yetkal Gamja Sujebi) was actually an extra dish we ordered, because I honestly had no idea the Crab Feast would be *this* generous, and I was worried we wouldn't be full.

From the moment the Crab Feast arrived, I realized this place takes "generous portions" very seriously.

Just look at the size of that bowl! It was significantly larger than my dad's hand?!

And it wasn't just a big bowl; it was filled to the brim with sujebi.

And, of course, it was delicious too...🧡

At this point, I felt confident that not only was the ganjang gejang amazing, but anything on their menu would be fantastic.

It left me wondering what delicious dish I'll try next, haha!

My dad even commented that with such great food, his drinks were going down smoothly today.

So, we enjoyed our meal with a drink, savoring every bite.

Aprons are available, so you don't have to worry about staining your white clothes while enjoying the spicy marinated crab or kalguksu.

They also have high chairs, making it a great spot for families to enjoy a casual meal with little ones.

Plus, they're currently running a grand opening special: on weekdays, you can get kalguksu for just ~$4!
