This time, while traveling to Gangneung with my friends,

we spent a night at **Shilla Monogram Hotel** in Gangneung.

While a hotel-cation wasn't the main purpose,

we didn't use the breakfast or the pool.

However, the spacious and quiet room, the ocean view,

and the friendly service made our stay very satisfying.

The regular check-in time was 3 PM.

They sent a text message in advance, stating that congestion was expected on the day,

and that early check-in would start from 1 PM.

We arrived late because we were busy exploring the city,

but I really appreciated their thoughtfulness in letting us know the situation beforehand.

2. Our Room for Three Friends

The room had a hardwood floor instead of carpet, which felt incredibly clean.

Even with three 20-inch suitcases laid out, it didn't feel cramped.

There was one double bed and one single bed,

making it comfortable for three friends to use.

The bathroom had a separate sink, toilet, bathtub, and shower area.

The hairdryer was neatly stored in a drawer under the sink.

It was a Unix hairdryer, and it was quite powerful, drying my hair really well, haha!

The only slight disappointment was that there were only two chairs for the table.

When we ate, we had to move the table closer to the bed,

and one person had to sit on the bed.

3. Garden Ocean View and Noise

Even though the weather was cloudy, we could see the ocean beyond the pine trees,

making it a lovely spot to relax in the room and admire the view.

We could see the swimming pool below the terrace,

and while we could hear people playing outside,

once we closed the window, we barely heard anything inside the room.

We didn't notice any noise from the hallway, the next room, or upstairs,

allowing us to rest peacefully.

Also, I think it might be because my phone is old, but the data signal wasn't great. ㅠㅠ

(My two friends who came with me didn't have any issues.)

However, the free Wi-Fi connected well, so it wasn't a major inconvenience.

The hotel is located a bit away from Gangneung (강릉) city center and its main tourist attractions.

We took a taxi out to complete our day's itinerary in one go,

and upon returning to the hotel, its location didn't cause much inconvenience.

There's a relatively quiet beach in front of the hotel,

which was great for walks without having to seek out other beaches.

The convenience store was easy to find by following the floor signs,

and the store was spacious with a wide variety of items.

The gym equipment was clean,

and the cardio and strength training areas were separated by floor,

making it convenient to use.

After checking out, they even held our luggage for free, which was incredibly helpful!

When it started raining, we asked for umbrellas, and without needing a deposit,

all three of us could borrow one each! Talk about convenience.

Their friendly and attentive service, even after we had checked out, really stuck with me.
