Getting to Hoe Seonjang

Hoe Seonjang Raw Fish Restaurant is centrally located at Gangmun Beach. It's super accessible, just a 5-minute drive from popular hotels like St. John's Hotel, Seamarq Hotel, and Skybay Hotel.

I arrived right at 11 AM when they opened. The interior isn't your typical raw fish restaurant; it's quite clean and boasts a unique, modern design. The bright ambiance makes it perfect for a date or a family trip.

As the first customer, I was seated at a window table. The thought of enjoying fresh sashimi with an ocean view had me genuinely excited!

The Hoe Baekban side dishes arrived first. With a total of seven components, these sides alone were enough to finish a bowl of rice!

Other reviews all mentioned maeuntang, so I'm not sure if it was just that day or a cost issue. I almost asked but decided to just enjoy it.

The setup was almost perfect, with fresh lettuce and perilla leaves, soy sauce, gochujang (chili paste), and ssamjang (dipping sauce) for the sashimi.

And here's the flounder sashimi! When dining alone, you usually have to spend at least ~$35 for sashimi, so this portion felt like a real blessing.

It was the perfect amount for one person, and if I lived nearby, I'd want to eat it once a week because the taste and composition were just superb.

It's been hard to find a single-person sashimi set meal even in coastal areas like Busan or other regions. I thoroughly enjoyed making my own ssam wraps!
