Must-Try Flavors & Menu Highlights
Our Top 3 Picks
This shop truly shines by featuring unique flavors crafted with ingredients sourced directly from local Gangneung farms and traditional artisans. (Each scoop is around ~$3)

My personal top 3 favorite flavors were:
Salted Milk
A rich, creamy milk base enhanced with the savory depth of sea salt, creating a perfectly balanced sweet-and-salty signature gelato.

Pistachio
An authentic, deeply nutty flavor that fills your mouth, derived from premium, natural pistachios rather than artificial syrups.

Seasonal Korean Melon (Chamoe) & Local Sorbet
A refreshing sorbet that perfectly captures the sweet and tangy essence of seasonal fruits. The Chamoe (Korean melon) flavor was particularly outstanding!
Beyond these, you'll find a diverse array of unique flavors rarely seen elsewhere, such as Tofu Gelato made with Gangneung's third-generation traditional tofu, and the savory, aromatic Gangneung Barley.
Taste & Texture
The moment you scoop up the gelato, you'll be impressed by its dense, chewy texture.

The Salted Milk instantly delivers a burst of creamy milkiness with a subtle salty edge, culminating in a clean, sweet finish.
The Pistachio offers a luxurious experience, with its smooth creaminess and delightful crunch of real pistachio pieces, truly elevating it to a high-end dessert.

The Chamoe and other fruit sorbets are incredibly refreshing, melting smoothly and crisply without any lingering aftertaste. They're the perfect palate cleanser after indulging in the rich, savory delights of the market.
Price & Value Satisfaction
Priced at around ~$3 per cup, considering the farm-fresh local ingredients and traditional artisanal process, the quality-to-price ratio and overall satisfaction are outstanding.

Boasting a deep, rich flavor that's incomparable to mass-produced ice cream, this dessert offers exceptional value and craftsmanship.
Gangneung Gelato's Unique Allure
The biggest draw here is how Gangneung Gelato masterfully reinterprets the flavors of Gangneung into a single dessert, by combining local ingredients (like Gobu Tofu, Gonsol Farm blueberries and mugwort, and Gangneung barley) with artisanal gelato techniques.

The rare and distinctive flavor combinations, found only in Gangneung, are sure to leave a lasting impression on travelers.
