Gangneung is renowned for its vibrant coffee culture, and Gangneung Coffee Street had been on my travel wishlist for ages. This trip finally gave me the chance to experience it firsthand!

It was a scorching hot day, with temperatures soaring close to 100°F, so the beach wasn't as crowded as it might typically be. Despite the heat, the ocean and the beach itself were incredibly clean and picturesque. I definitely made a mental note to come back to Anmok Beach on a future Gangneung trip to enjoy a refreshing swim.

The Coffee Street boasts an impressive array of unique coffee shops. I decided to try 'Haslla Gabae,' a charming spot whose name, 'Haslla,' refers to the old name for the nearby Gyeongpo area. I'll be sharing a more detailed review of Haslla Gabae in a separate post soon!

Despite the sweltering heat, I couldn't just stay cooped up in a cafe! I ventured out to explore Anmok Beach and the coffee street, taking a leisurely stroll to soak in the atmosphere.

Walking along the beachfront, I captured photos of the charming coffee shop buildings. While there were a few restaurants and other facilities mixed in, it was truly remarkable how many buildings were dedicated to coffee!

Anmok Beach truly boasts a remarkably long stretch of sandy shore.

Along the beachfront, numerous parasols were set up, ready for visitors to enjoy a day of swimming and relaxation.

Naturally, cafes located in taller buildings offered even more spectacular views of the beach and ocean.
I also spotted an adorable mascot outside the Holly's cafe on Gangneung Coffee Street!

Gangneung Coffee Bean Bread is another local specialty I heard about, but unfortunately, I didn't get to try it on this trip.
Anmok Beach is incredibly expansive. From the Coffee Street side, I drove along the beach, and it stretched out for miles. Because of its sheer length, there were sections where swimming was prohibited and even areas where public access was restricted. It seemed like quite a challenge to manage such a vast coastline!

Midway along the beach, I even spotted a unique pub-like establishment.

For those seeking a thrill, Anmok Beach offers speed boat rides, available for about ~$10 per person. I saw many people enjoying this exciting activity!
