Located right next to Gyeongpo Lake, Arte Museum Gangneung is an immersive
media art exhibition hall. Since they have branches in a few different cities in Korea,
I actually visited the one on Jeju Island before,
making this Gangneung branch my second Arte Museum experience!

Right at the entrance of Arte Museum Gangneung, there was a cute
ginger cat taking a sweet nap. It stayed perfectly still even when I took a picture!

[Gangneung] Arte Museum - MyRealTrip

After purchasing your tickets at the booth, you can walk right on in.
The best part about Arte Museum is that it doesn't just show you media art;
it incorporates delightful scents that stimulate your sense of smell,
making you feel as if you've truly stepped inside the artwork.
Arte Museum isn't just a place to look at flat paintings;
it's a multi-sensory space where light, sound, and interactive features
come together for a fully immersive media art experience.
The massive screens and surround sound work together
to wrap around you like a real landscape, offering an incredibly deep immersion
that makes you feel like you are standing in the middle of nature.
FLOWER Media Art (+Sweet Floral Scent)

The first exhibition zone you'll encounter
is the media art space called "FLOWER."
It beautifully captures the joy of life played out by infinite petals.
It's designed to depict an unforgettable, fleeting moment amidst
a sweet, gentle floral breeze and a soft rain of blossoms.

Even within the FLOWER zone, there are plenty of distinct spots
and photo zones to snap some pictures. However, since it is a dark
environment, it does take a bit of photography skill
to get that perfect shot, which is a tiny challenge!

Arte Museum Gangneung has lots of unique spaces to offer.
One of them is called the Pink Moon. When you take a photo, as shown in the top-right image,
your silhouette blends into a dreamlike cluster of multiple pink moons,
creating an incredibly beautiful and surreal look.

It was a completely different character in Jeju, but
At this must-visit indoor spot in Gangneung, there’s an adorable rabbit
cradling the moon, which kids absolutely love!

Each exhibition zone has a completely different theme, making every transition feel like stepping into a whole new world.
It’s such a fun space where you’ll completely lose track of time
interactively playing and snapping tons of photos!

There is also a special area that kids go wild for!
You get to color in your own animals, scan them, and then watch them come to life
as they roam across a massive digital screen.
They absolutely love seeing their creations move!
Honestly, it's also a fantastic interactive space
for couples to make some sweet, fun memories together.

People were actually lining up to get a photo in this particular spot.
I’m not the best photographer, so I was a bit shy about whether my shot would turn out well—
I ended up just capturing it from a distance instead!

This zone felt incredibly realistic and vivid.
A majestic dragon sweeps across the giant screen, and it looks absolutely breathtaking.

Unlike typical media art exhibitions, this place doesn’t just focus on visuals—
it fully engages both your eyes and ears with sensory stimulation.
That’s probably why it stands out as one of the most memorable parts of my Gangneung trip.
With so many projectors seamlessly casting images everywhere,
the depth of the room is incredible. It genuinely makes you feel
like you've stepped right into the art itself.

This is the thunder and lightning room, similar to the one I saw in Jeju!
The lightning effects are so dramatic—if you time it right
in front of the screen, you can capture a photo of yourself "catching" a lightning bolt,
or pose as if you've just been struck by it!

I was especially drawn to the room featuring the majestic whale.
Watching this massive whale glide across the space
is the perfect backdrop for a "once-in-a-lifetime" shot. It was actually trickier
to photograph than I expected, but I think I managed to catch a good one!

Arte Museum Gangneung, a premier indoor attraction,
features a beautiful array of water-themed media art.
The exhibits are divided into different natural elements like waterfalls and roaring waves.
The wave room is so mesmerising that you’ll easily find yourself spending a long time there.

Right before the exit, the final media art zone
features a beautiful traditional Korean theme. It is absolutely stunning—I noticed
so many people lingering here to soak it all in and take loads of photos.
It beautifully captures the elegance and heritage of Korea,
and even though it's a projection, it truly makes you feel as though you've traveled right into the scene.
The Cafe Inside Arte Museum

There's actually a cozy cafe right inside ARTE MUSEUM, one of Gangneung’s best indoor attractions,
where you can take a sweet break and enjoy a refreshing drink.
Pairing your visit with some coffee or tea makes it so much easier
to take your time and leisurely explore the entire exhibition flow!
ARTE MUSEUM Gangneung Souvenir Shop

Once you finish exploring the exhibits,
you'll find a souvenir shop filled with Gangneung-exclusive items and
cool ARTE MUSEUM branded goods, making it
the perfect place to wrap up your visit.

They sell a wide variety of merchandise inspired by the Gangneung theme,
and you can even purchase the signature scents from each exhibition room
to bring that sensory memory back home with you!
It's highly recommended as a must-visit indoor destination in Gangneung,
and absolutely worth the trip. Make sure to check the ticket prices and
available discounts to plan a budget-friendly visit!
