The Exterior
After parking at the Sinmun-ri Public Parking Lot,
you'll find Joyangbangjik across the street.
The queue for ordering might be long,
but it moves quickly.
Even the outdoor restrooms...
were beautiful!
Seriously, even the restrooms here are gorgeous.
Where to Order
The drink ordering area and the bread ordering area are separate.

Our Bread Selection
Pick your bread on a tray,
pay, and then you can take it right away.
Grab your (drink) pager,
with your bread in hand,
and go find a seat!!
The drinks and bakery items are on the expensive side.
You just have to think of it as an admission fee
to feel at ease.
(We didn't eat much since we were going to have meat later.)

Here's what we ordered:
Mont Blanc
2 Salt Breads
Vanilla Latte
The salt bread was the most delicious!
And the price was quite reasonable too...
It was incredibly soft,
and usually, the salt breads I've had before
tended to be too crispy on the outside.
But here, it wasn't quite like that,
the bread had a wonderfully chewy texture that tore beautifully along its layers.
The latte had a decent, ordinary taste.
Interior - Every Corner is a Photo Zone!
Since it used to be the Joyang Textile Factory,
the ceilings are high
and it's made of wood.
Along the long central aisle,
there are tables on both sides.
As spacious as the interior is, there are also plenty of tables.
But do remember that it gets crowded on weekends....
There are lots of lights and plants everywhere,
retro-style chairs,
and even various barrels
are utilized as tables.
There are old barber shop chairs,
and even the children's high chairs were unique.
With so many different decorations,
you'll never get bored exploring them all.
What's unique here is that
the door handles
are old irons!
They transformed the dyeing vats, which were used for dyeing and washing,
into a pond with a fountain.
The old Joyang Textile Factory was
remodeled and
converted into a cafe.
Perhaps because it's only been maintained and not fully reconstructed,
as we were leaving,
a section of the wall had collapsed and they were cleaning it up.
Thankfully, no one was there.

Inside - The Kids' Zone!
As you step inside from the entrance,
you'll find the Kids Care Zone to your left!
Knowing it's a dedicated Kids Care Zone is such a relief!
There are so many things here that kids are absolutely going to adore!
Kids were busy touching, riding, and exploring,
and they could have stayed for ages!
Here you'll find carousel unicorns,
all sorts of children's cars,
telephones, typewriters, a cash register (I actually saw one for the first time!), bicycles, and so much more!
The interior has a wonderful 70s-80s vibe,
it's truly charming!
And then....
there were vintage children's tricycles and adorable ride-on cars!
I actually remember seeing that very ride-on car
in my own childhood photos!!!!
It's a similar yellow one, just like the one I seemed to love back then!
Restrooms - Even the Restrooms Take You Back in Time!
And they weren't kidding when they said to definitely check out the restrooms....
Stepping into the restroom,
I truly felt like I'd traveled back in time!

There are also many carousel unicorns everywhere, so
The kids hopped on them every now and then,
(The handle is a shovel!)
They also had a blast playing with the public phone,
The kids absolutely loved it!
Annex Building - Timeless Antiques
This annex is beautifully decorated, mostly with elegant antique furniture.
And because it’s usually not too crowded,
it's the perfect spot if you're looking for a quiet conversation.
The main building, while wonderful, can get quite bustling with people,
so it sometimes has a more lively, perhaps a touch chaotic, atmosphere.
The desk area, in particular,
had a certain charm that I absolutely adored.
Another Annex - A Trip Down Memory Lane with Vintage Treasures
That bag, for some reason, felt incredibly familiar.
Had I spotted it countless times on TV?
Or maybe it was a relic from my grandparents' house from way back when?
I even think I've seen that matchbox before... haha!
It made me feel like I just had to ask my mom about it!
Was it something I genuinely remembered,
or was I just so engrossed in a movie
that I imagined seeing it everywhere? Hmm.
As I explored this section,
I found myself thinking a lot about my parents.
It’s no wonder so many middle-aged visitors
were enjoying it here too, I noticed.
Funnily enough, even at my parents' house,
we had a painting of those exact pigs in the yard!
Hahaha!
We even got to marvel at an old washing machine,
and as I took in all the beautiful antique pieces,
it truly felt like stepping onto a captivating movie set!
Yet Another Annex (!) - A Rustic Charm of Rural Life & Farm Tools
It's filled with various farm tools,
giving it a real rustic, countryside warehouse vibe.
Can you believe they're using scales as chairs?
What a brilliantly fresh idea! Haha.
And as you head towards the exit,
you'll even spot an old bus!
Guess what? There are even tables inside the bus! How cool is that! 😉
After stepping out,
I also took a moment to admire the displayed photos.
For a moment, it truly felt like I had stepped onto a movie set!
I bet this place would bring back a flood of memories for parents.
While for us it might just feel like a museum,
I imagine our parents would truly cherish the nostalgia.
Definitely bringing my parents here next time! It's a must-see for them!
After all that, we headed towards our accommodation near Mount Manisan.
