so we went to visit my brother's family

who lives right near the Incheon ocean.

While we were there, we even took a fantastic

day trip to Ganghwado Island!

My son absolutely loves fishing,

so he said he really wanted to visit a Ganghwado fishing pension

that had bungalow campsites.

That's when we discovered a place called Ganghwa Sea Fishing Spot,

and decided to pay it a spontaneous visit!

Featuring cozy bungalows and an ocean-fishing campsite,

this Incheon pension is extremely popular with families

as a swimming pool glamping site

combined with a fantastic fishing spot.

Since it offers such a unique camping-meets-fishing experience,

it's perfect for families. You can drop by just to fish

without booking accommodation, or you can plan a proper

summer vacation here since it's also a great pool pension.

You can easily tailor your visit based on your style and goals!

With plenty of fish biting and the thrill of the catch,

we had an amazing half-day getaway.

I'll share all the details from my firsthand experience

at this ocean-view Ganghwa Sea Fishing Spot—

including the location, overall vibe, and even our catch of the day!

01. Location of Ganghwa Sea Fishing Spot

To kick off our unique "fishing-cation" at Ganghwa Sea Fishing Spot—

which also offers sea fishing glamping and pool pension facilities—

we headed straight to the ticket booth after arriving.

We set off for our Ganghwado Island trip on Sunday morning.

The staff informed us that weekday rates apply at the

fishing pension starting from 12:00 PM (noon) on Sundays!

So, we had a hearty meal next door at "Ganghwa Island Rice House"

(a local favorite of my brother's family),

took a scenic drive along the nearby Ganghwado coast, and then came back.

Located near the entrance to Hwangsando Island—

just a short drive after crossing Choji Bridge—

this glamping, camping, and fishing spot is super easy to get to.

Major local attractions like Dongmak Beach, Bunori Dondae, and Jeondeungsa Temple

are all conveniently located within a 10 to 15-minute drive.

While spending a night at this Incheon sea fishing pension is highly recommended,

it's also perfect for planning a day trip itinerary just like we did!

02. Fishing Rates & Pricing

The family bungalow was equipped with air conditioning to beat the heat,

and inside, there was a 32-inch TV, a refrigerator,

and an underfloor heating system. Outside, a private table

and four chairs were set up.

There was also reliable Wi-Fi, making it super easy to jump online

while keeping an eye on my son while he fished!

They guided us so we could park right near our room,

which was super convenient.

When we checked in, they even handed us the room key and TV remote

neatly tucked away in a clean little pouch.

Since we visited on a weekday,

they set us up in Family Bungalow #16 (size 3x4m).

Only our 7th-grade son was actually going to fish,

so we just rented the gear for him.

There were 5 of us in total (3 adults and 2 kids).

Even though we only fished for about 4 and a half hours,

the family bungalow rental comes as a standard 12-hour booking.

Because we had my preschool-aged nephew with us,

we booked the family bungalow so everyone could relax in the cool AC

without getting worn out by the summer heat. But on cooler days,

just coming for a short-session "casual" fishing trip would be awesome too.

With the rod rental, frozen whiteleg shrimp,

and worm bait purchases,

we paid a total of ~$97 upon entry.

Any cafe purchases and the fish-cleaning fee

after we caught our fish were paid separately on-site.

Right near our bungalow, there was a very clean restroom

with refreshing air conditioning. And since this is a Ganghwado pool-villa style pension,

there were well-equipped shower rooms available too!

03. Our 7th-Grade Son's Catch of the Day!

Around the cafe area, we saw other families

fully enjoying this awesome sea-fishing campsite

right next to the swimming pool here in Incheon.

My son, a true Jeju Island native who lives and breathes fishing,

had his eyes set on one goal: feeling the thrill of a bite from the Incheon sea.

His determination was absolutely burning!

But for the first 3 hours after we started,

there wasn't a single bite, and the heat was making us a bit miserable.

I honestly started to think we had just thrown away ~$96,

and was contemplating changing into swimsuits,

heading out to a nearby beach early,

and continuing our Ganghwado trip elsewhere.

But as it turns out, the real magic of Ganghwa Sea Fishing Ground

starts right after the fish release times!

When the first afternoon release rolled around at 3:00 PM,

exciting music started pumping, and the staff

went out on a boat to release plenty of big fish into the water.

Because my son was fishing all by himself,

the staff kept a friendly eye on him. They even offered to hook a fish

on his line during the release window so he could at least feel the thrill of reeling one in.

But right before they could even do that,

my son hooked one all on his own!

In an instant, he landed a pretty massive striped grunt.

The staff still hooked another one for him as promised,

so we suddenly had 2 striped grunts in no time!

The fish here are so incredibly strong!

Even though our sinker snapped right off,

my son quickly hooked another short-finned pompano

and was absolutely thrilled.

We actually forgot to bring our own landing net,

but the friendly neighbors in the next bungalow and the staff

were so helpful in assisting my son

with landing his catches. It was incredibly kind of them!

To show our appreciation, we made sure to share

some refreshing drinks with our neighbors.

And thanks to their help at the very end,

my son successfully reeled in a gorgeous red seabream!

In total, we caught 2 striped grunts, 1 red seabream, and 1 short-finned pompano.

That's 4 fish altogether—a seriously impressive haul for such a short amount of time!

There is a convenience store on-site where you can pick up

snacks, bait, and any other sea fishing or glamping essentials.

Next to the pool, you'll also find a lovely, clean cafe.

As a large-scale Ganghwado fishing pension, it has everything from

freshly brewed coffee and beverages to ice cream for the kids,

making it easy to take a relaxing break whenever you need.

There's even a restaurant on the premises!

The glamping sites are located right next to the cafe,

which looked like an amazing spot for an evening BBQ.

Right next to the ticket office is a fish-cleaning center,

where you can get your catch sliced into fresh sashimi for a reasonable price

or have it packed with ice to take home, so definitely keep that in mind!

We asked them to prepare three of our fish as fresh sashimi,

and took the remaining one over to my brother's house

to bake whole in the oven!

04. Wrapping up our memories at the sea fishing pension

My son and I had such high expectations heading to this Ganghwado sea glamping site.

Because of the hot weather, we didn't get any bites at first, which made me a bit nervous.

But right after the scheduled fish release time,

we got to experience the thrilling, heavy pull of a real catch!

With cool air-conditioned bungalows, a great campsite, a cafe, a restaurant,

and even a refreshing swimming pool, there is so much to enjoy here.

It's the ultimate camping and fishing spot to visit

with friends or as a family getaway.

We kicked off my son's summer vacation

by making the most wonderful memories together.

We kept our trip short and sweet this time due to our schedule,

but we'll definitely plan for a longer, more leisurely stay next time!
